So many documentaries cut away from performances, thinking we only want a glimpse of it to get the gist before shuttling on to the next thing. What a joy to be given the space to settle in and let Tina take you where she wants you to go. Read full review

I've always been inspired by Tina Turner's story as a survivor, but I never stopped to consider how the constant reminders of abuse affected her throughout her life. Probably the best rock documentary I've ever seen. And the background story was just as amazing. And the editing. It was all there. Of course Tina is a force of nature. Nothing can stop her, except being reminded of the past and she pushes past that as well. You go lady!

This is a good documentary, which doesn't shy away from the tough times Tina had while married to Ike but I liked that it includes interviews with her, with her telling some of the story, rather than it all being narrated by someone else.
