Lara Jean and Peter grow up convincingly in a well-handled conclusion to Netflix’s hit trilogy, with a heart as generous as its charming central heroine.
Aside from the globetrotting and the drama, at the heart of all three To All the Boys movies is the charming Condor, who infuses the movies with validity and radiates happiness. She is a delight to watch—always and forever.

To all the boys: Always and Forever concludes in a dignified way, while retaining some substance, this romantic comedy trilogy (for teens).

Though it doesn’t entirely recapture the lightning-in-a-bottle magic of the original, To All The Boys: Always And Forever is a worthy sendoff for this well-loved series.
To All the Boys: Always and Forever is the most mature, and thus, most entertaining of the three films because it highlights the choices Lara Jean makes for herself instead of the choices she makes about other people.
Lana Condor’s comic timing should be getting its own paragraph, dammit, not my shrill complaints about our dysfunctional messaging around higher education. But the film’s own attention to the way romantic comedies operate teaches us to watch it with our guard up.
The final serving of this three-part confection rarely strays from enjoyable, even if it doesn’t match the seductive sweetness of the first bite.
“Always and Forever” is still likable, still cute, but utterly out of ideas.
This conclusion is basically the same song, with the same tune, but remixed.
The rom-com formula will remain effective because the idyll of perfect romance is something that many people still aspire to.
Although I must admit that it would be a refreshing change to see a story in which young people were taught that when you finish high school, your life begins with your future in college or whatever you decide to do afterwards, and that same life doesn't end because you break up with who you think it is the love you'll never find again.
I know that story very well, and have seen it too many times before. To All The Boys: Always and Forever closes a cycle that obviously no longer had anything more to say, and perhaps I can mention that it simply returns to do well what made it become a trilogy in the first place, and therefore will be more than enough for the public that doesn't expect more than what they're looking for.
And of course like its predecessors, the only person in the cast worth mentioning is Lana Condor.
A Netflix hit, no doubt about it, but for all the wrong reasons of course.
