The film boasts a sizeable effects budget too for some nice explosions, blood squirts, and bullet ballet. Sit back, disconnect, and have fun. Even with the lack of an A-List star, Triple Threat finds a way to stand on its own.

Like any obviously competent action director, Johnson establishes geography and spatial stakes with rigor, but then, like any incompetent action director—cough, Peter Berg, cough—he loses focus, the idea of the action overtaking its execution. It’s frustrating, because Johnson clearly understands what he’s doing.

This film delivers the action and nothing more. Watch this only if you want a 90% action movie with guns, explosions and martial arts. A unique cast with martial artists that are used well.

You don't watch a movie like this for anything more than the fight scenes. The script is as cliche as it gets and the acting is as campy as you'd expect. The fight scenes and choreography however are great fun, and that's why you watch something like this

It’s not a bad film, by any means, as there are definitely worse action movies to spend 90 minutes with. Yet, there are so many other, better, martial art films out there, with many including at least one actor from this film.

While the movie offers some pretty decent fight sequences with good choreographies and there's more than enough action to keep you entertained, the rest falls flat. The acting is mediocre at best, the story is cliché and predictable and the cinematography is boring. If you're a martial arts fan or an action movie fan, you may enjoy it. If not, you're better off with something else.

Regarding fight scenes and action this was great. Regarding plot and the rest it felt kinda unrealistic and cheesy at times. Like many characters did things which don't seem realistic if this would be real. Basically you can watch it for the action and it isn't unbearable but nothing impressive of memorable overall

This is a bad movie. Triple Threat fails in almost every conceivable aspect and that is hard to say because I was really looking forward to it. The acting is awful and only a few good performances are given. The directing is incoherent and baffling at points. The writing is maybe the worst of the year and the dialogue said is just horrible. The cinematography at points is so overexposed I'm shocked a professional cinematographer thought that it was okay. The only redeeming aspect of this movie is the quality action and really good hand to hand fight scenes. I understand this was all they cared about but you cannot let the rest of the movie ****, that just is not how filmmaking works.
