Not a death-penalty polemic at all; rather an effective thriller and character-driven drama. Eastwood reprises the Dirty Harry-esque character, this time as a washed up journalist who also happens to be quite a jerk.

Surprisingly straightforward, though 'True Crime' is still very good.

The lead performance of Clint Eastwood is enjoyable and he is supported ably by Isaiah Washington. There are a number of recognisable faces behind those two, namely Denis Leary, Michael McKean, James Woods and BernardSurprisingly straightforward, though 'True Crime' is still very good.

I did think we were in for a biggest twist, but it kinda just goes the wall you - or, at least, I - expected. That's not actually a bad thing, as what is produced is entertaining and kept me interested throughout - it just feels like it is setting something different up at one or two points. I will say, if I had anything close to a negative it would be the humour - which sometimes works, but sometimes doesn't; no biggie, though.… Expand

Alors donc, comme ça tu serais de l'autre bord ? et puis évidemment d'une pierre deux coups puisque l'innocent est noir et que les deux seuls témoins sont blancs ! et en plus, attends, la victime est blanche ! oh putain mais c'est du cousu main ça !

On sait donc dès le premier quart d'heure qu'on va passer toute une série de sales quarts d'heure les uns à la suite des autres avec en point d'orgue l'appel à la dernière seconde tandis que le gentil noir qui n'a rien fait (c'est pas moi patron !) est sur le point d'y passer. Parce qu'évidemment notre super journaleux voit tout de suite ce qui cloche et en deux temps trois mouvements tout est résolu. Et pendant ce temps-là, le pauvre Columbo dort encore.

De plus, Papy Clint se la joue coolos, couche avec les femmes de ses collègues (pas grave, c'est des "sales cons" de toute façon) et s'engueule régulièrement avec son patron James Woods qui nous fait bien rire. Heureusement qu'il est là, le James !

Sinon, on s'emmerde sensiblement alors que Papy nous tire la corde sensible pendant les trois quarts du film dont le caractère grotesque ne vous a désormais pas échappé du tout.… Expand
