"You’re going to Madea’s house to laugh, forget your troubles and perhaps get a good Christian message. To Perry’s credit, he does a far better job of folding that message into the film than usual." ... Read full review

"Tyler Perry hasn’t generally been in the business of sequels, but apart from Joe’s overly salty soul-food patter, this one has a joyless, obligatory, cardboard feeling that marks it as one of Perry’s least satisfying films." ... Read full review

"Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween would be tone deaf, lacking in plot, and almost entirely humorless in any year. That is happens to arrive in theaters amid a cascade of sexual assault survivors sharing their stories about sexual assault doesn’t help its case." ... Read full review

If you answered yes to these questions, then this is for you. It's one of Perry's weaker efforts, but still provides the same kind of entertainment that has kept him going for quite some time now. The only change Perry has ever made to this series was to move away from the more heavy hitting drama in favor of lighthearted messages and an increased emphasis on the humor. While that has made a world of difference in making these more enjoyable, it's no secret that there are still issues that will probably never get fixed. Perhaps the most notable is how cheap these movies look. The production values are not high. Visually it is on par with made for TV films. Of course the writing and comedy is only for a specific audience, but I see no issue with pandering to a specific audience. Where Boo 2! stumbles is unsurprisingly in it's storytelling. Everyone who isn't Madea and her fellow old cronies are irritating as all get out. These scenes where that focus on the younger generation of her family flat out suck. Unfortunately in this movie it feels like the majority of the attention goes to them. When the attention is on the title character the movie can be quite funny. Although the first Boo! had the funnier material. Sometimes the jokes fall flat thanks to an overreliance on raunchy dialog. It's pretty lazy in a lot of areas. Tyler Perry is just cashing in on his following at this point with no desire to put that much effort into Madea's exploits anymore. I personally can't blame him even if I personally would do things differently. No, the real issue with Boo 2! is that it's just not as funny as it could have been and the recycled aspects of the previous Boo! are very noticeable. The writing is predictable as all get out. Yet, there are still enough humorous moments to make it worth a watch for the fans. Just don't expect this one to be your new favorite Madea movie. Expand

It’s lazily written, basically shot and edited and is the 10th installment of the series. But just like with the first BOO! there is just something about the film that makes it a blast to see in a crowded theater with some friends, whether you’re laughing with or at it. I’m far from someone who loves stupid humor (Sandler and Bay never get great reviews from me) but if you’re just looking for a fun experience at the movies, maybe look into this one.*

I paid approximately $20 to watch this movie in theaters back in October 2017. To this day, it is the worst $20 I've ever spent. It isI paid approximately $20 to watch this movie in theaters back in October 2017. To this day, it is the worst $20 I've ever spent. It is marketed as a "comedy horror" film, yet it fails miserably at following the guidelines of both genres. It is neither funny or scary in the slightest. I'm surprised this movie wasn't canned upon the producers reading the screenplay. I'd preserve this movie for future filmmakers to showcase as the perfect example of what NOT to create when making movies. Expand

bom, o filme menos engraçado que já vi, personagens chatos e irritantes, roteiro pessimo e sem graça, atuações pessimas e vergonhosas.
