With its solid production values, Unplanned has all the appearances of being a real film, but viewers in favor of abortion rights will find it to be pure propaganda. Writer-directors Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon spend more time making their talking points than developing their characters, who exist merely to make their arguments.
Unplanned isn’t a good movie, but it’s effective propaganda — or, at least, it is if you belong to the group it’s targeting: those who believe that abortion in America, though a legal right, is really a crime. It’s hard to imagine the movie drawing many viewers outside that self-selected demographic.

1. Is this movie powerful?
Almost all critics rate it 1 or 0 stars, while being best seller on amazon. It is so powerful they feel the urge to fight it. For me it was close to "La vita e bella" as emotion, but more powerful, with slightly less performance and budget. Less humor, but inspired from real life.
2. Is it pure propaganda? I'm afraid pure propaganda are these 'critic' reviews. How else can you call them when all they try to do is manipulate people into not watching it, at any cost?
3. Full of lies?
When behemoth Planned parenthood puts its money to find any flaws, they will probably come up with something, even if that means childish remarks as fact x did not happen in day y, but two days earlier. For them this is enough to state that facts are not accurate, hoping once again to discredit the movie. You can actually check that this was their finding.
4. Can the critics be so biased? They seem to be accurate on most movies.
Go check yourself. After seeing it, I was sure that any heart would be touched by it.

Filmmakers Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon pound their points home like Madison Avenue vets, worried if they don’t use a ham for a cudgel, their audience might miss the point.
There have been films that treated Nazi doctors conducting evil experiments in concentration camps more sympathetically.
This movie is ridiculous.
Unplanned will make you writhe in agony over how such an ugly, malicious and potentially dangerous piece of religious and political propaganda could have made its way into this world.
There’s not a single scene that speaks to characters with lives outside their streamlined narrative function; they’re performers in a parable traced over a Chick tract, filmed with a bland competence at odds with the true perversity of the material. Old-school Pure Flix: Welcome back!
This movie tells the heart-touching true story of an Planned Parenthood abortion clinic director whose life was transformed when she realized the truth - that a child's life ends every time there is an abortion. I see it is on the worst movies of the year list here at metacritic - and I can only say thank you to the critics who helped it make this list as any attention is good attention -- and I hope more people see this excellent film. The critics only rated it negative because it undercuts their worldview and support for abortion.

I am 100 percent a pro-life Christian, so I love the messages of this film, but the dialogue was mediocre, the acting was blah, and the production of this heavy-handed drama was just unimpressive.

90% of the people walking into this movie will know that it is political and religious propaganda and the remaining 10% will be people they dragged along to try to convert them. That's nothing new as there have been hundreds of movies produced like this for years that have that exact audience dynamic. The new bit is they paid a few people to really go the extra mile to try to produce and market it as something more slick and less clunky. It doesn't quite hit the mark as it as. As with all those older movies, the characters have as much dimension to them as a New York ad-man and the story as much truth to it as the words that ad-man tried to use to sell you something. The people paying money for this would be better off sticking to ham-fisted attempts at documentaries. 1 for effort though.
