Having had played warcraft reign of chaos and frozen throne, I was able to follow along well enough to understand where the direction of the film was taking me. However, I can see where the immersion and pacing could have suffered for those audience members whom knew nothing about the lore or world. I'd love to see a sequel, but am fearful due to the overwhelmingly negative critic response. They went in to this film wanting to hate it.… Expand

I also saw some of the complaints that people couldn't keep track of the characters (being that i've never really played any warcraft games aside from warcraft 2 a little) i could understand this complaint, however even so, even with a little confusion as to who was married to who and related which way, everything mostly narrows down in the end, and ultimately i understood everything and really enjoyed the movie.… Expand

Что мне - фанату варкрафта во всех его ипостасиях, что моей жене - не знакомой с миром варкрафтом вообще - фильм очень понравился. Единственно что немного огорчает это то, что сюжет в фильме бежит не останавливаясь на разъяснения. Но здесь все понятно - дядьки, решившие, что их видение картины лучше, чем у режиссера и считавшие, что лучше знают, что хочет видеть народ - несчадно порезали ту составляющую фильма, которая объясняет в подробностях все происходящее в картине. Отсюда и негативные отзывы от людей, не знакомых с лором (миром варкрафта). Повторюсь еще раз - не слушайте и не читайте рецензии критиков, не портите заранее себе впечатление о фильме! Сходите сами и посмотрите картину. А если уже почитали и сомневаетесь - так познакомитесь вкратце с миром варкрафта перед просмотром фильма - это улучшит его восприятие и все встанет на свои места. Ну или, в крайнем случае, дождитесь режиссерской версии картины, от просмотра которой, я уверен, все получат огромное удовольствие!… Expand

I were a pretty big lore fan of the warcraft world, and most was something i would hell yea just as i read it, some it are not. However you can see that it have been made with passion and love.
I had my GF with me when we went to see it and she loved it as well and asked to go see it agian which even got her to begin playing Warcraft.… Expand

I am not a typical fanboy - if this film sucked I really would tell you and be here preaching from the pulpit about how badly they messed it up... but honestly this film is fantastic. The visuals are incredible... the Orcs especially... lots of eye candy and magic, a great musical score and incredible landscapes. There are plenty of easter eggs to enjoy. There are a couple of weak scenes but they do little to effect the film negatively overall. Gul'dan was so incredible... every scene he is in is amazingly good. The sound effects were wonderful. Gamers and fans of the game overall will enjoy this film. Do not listen to the critics... they must have thought this was another LOTR.... this is for the most part the Warcraft film we wanted... my only problem is I wished it was longer! I am already excited for the sequel. Go out and see this film!!!… Expand

The good:
- a rich, engaging world and lore
- interesting and conflicted characters that you care about
- good cgi, especially the facial performances from the orcs
- gets you excited for the sequels

The bad:
- poor pacing, didn't need to be 2h long
- drowns the audience in unnecessary information
- lacks a focused story and strong protagonist
- some questionable performances from the human characters
- not a lot of action

I think most mainstream audiences will find it boring, because if you're not a fan and already know where the story lines will go the movie doesn't give you a reason to care, it just bombards you with exposition which is not the right way to do it. But, and it's a big but, at least the movie has a heart and soul and you can tell the people behind it cared, and that makes a heck of a difference in forgiving the movie's shortcomings. I usually don't say that but in this case I hope we do get a sequel because the potential is definitely there.… Expand

Surtout quand le scénar pue le nanar avec en plus beaucoup de préoccupations du vivre_ensemble et son angélisme forcené qui va avec...

Car les Orques sont gentils en fait, sauf un vieux très méchant et pas gentil... les Orques sont mimis, tant qu'ils sont pas verdâtres et super vénères (comme Hulk) ! et à part ça tout le monde il est beau, il est gentil... Certes, ça se castagne quand même, à cause des Orques vilains (ceux qui sont pas mimis) mais ça reste propre, sans une goutte de sang...

Les acteurs sont à la fois nuls et mal dirigés, voire pas dirigés du tout et sont alors raccord avec l'histoire bidon, la mise en scène fade, pour ne pas dire gentiment médiocre et les effets numériques de pacotille... Tout cela est risible, si on pouvait y trouver matière à en rire bien entendu : mais même pas...… Expand
