A symphony of small gestures, throwaway glances, brief exchanges of unexpected observation and silences which actually say more than pages of dialogue.
A deadpan comedy shot through with a vein of despair, the Uruguayan film Whisky is a pint-size pleasure.
A fine film of few words and very little motion.
Mordantly funny deadpan comedy.
The film's measured pace may put off impatient viewers, but the brilliantly underplayed ending is worth the wait.
There is little suspense, however, and while all the attention on the small details of their lives is laudable, it isn't very interesting.
The witty title aside, this is a miserably dull exercise in stingy-Jew humor and post-Jarmusch nonreaction.
