The culture clash here between "goddamn hipster freaks" and people of the woods is more complicated here, and the way it unfolds is brutal and shocking without being depraved itself.
Wrong Turn delivers a handful of timely twists and coats the franchise with a new, and vastly more interesting, sheen. It stumbles at times to balance all the themes it's trying to handle with regards to societal ills, individual value, and self-determinism but the end result is still a warped ride that could set up more thrills to come.

What a spectacular set from building up immense care for all the well thought characters to the epic plot, also the beautiful ending was a freaking cherry on Top.

Un reboot MUY DIFERENTE con respecto al material original, pero que a mi parecer supera por lejos a las 6 películas anteriores de la saga, todo sin necesidad de gore extremo ni caníbales deformes, en lo personal me ha encantado en todos los aspectos posibles.
No hay espacio para hacer comparaciones de ningun tipo. Wrong Turn (2021) es prácticamente una experiencia completamente nueva y fresca.

Although its many complications quickly devolve into absurdity, Wrong Turn does deserve some credit for the boldness with which it deviates from its franchise inspiration. This is no paint-by-numbers remake. And although it’s just got way too much going on, the gore is gnarly, the paranoia is palpable, and the characters, while sometimes annoying, have motivations and arcs that make sense.
The film does an outstanding job elevating its horror with a sprinkling of disconcertment, but it takes a wrong turn by offering a muddled message.
Wrong Turn has some decent booby-trap business but can’t find enough that is different to enliven the weary concept. But for the horror hardcore, keep watching once the credits roll.
It’s a bit silly and queasy, but the narrative motor keeps humming.
I didn’t hate it, but didn’t get much out of it and found it boring. Still, fans of kidnapping, impaling, hot-poker-in-the-eye cinema may take to it as their cinematic happy place.
I entered the cinema expecting a decent-yet-unextraordinary hillbilly horror **** that's precisely what I got for the first third.
I definitely didn't expect the intelligent characterisation and open-minded themes of the final two-thirds.
A smart horror film for smart people who don't require easy answers. (With a fantastically satisfying ending, to boot!)

Meh. I never really got into this franchise, I think I saw the first two when they came out but had no interest in watching the sequels. My memory of the two films was glorious gore and very little else. So going into this I am loosely expecting a mindless but fun violent gory splatterfest. In some ways this is what I got but in some ways I got a spaghetti horror that tries to be a Blumhouse film but fails in an existential way by being associated with a long running slasher series. It still nods to its roots and plays everything with seriousness. I think this would have been better if it wasn’t associated with the Wrong Turn franchise but then again no-one would have probably watched it as this is so forgettable. Because there is gore that isn’t as good as the earlier films, because there is a complex and winding story that isn’t that original, because none of the cast of characters are interesting I can only see this falling out of my memory within a few weeks. Not that it’s a bad film, it held my attention and I was interested. Either watch the original franchise before the reboot for mindless gore or watch something else for an original and interesting concept.

Many mention that there's a noticeable improvement over the 6 previous films. Yes, 6 films. And it's true.
But did they actually see them? 'Cause it clearly could've been worse, but it seems ridiculous to mention it as something positive, because frankly it's not like they had a very big barrier to surpass.

Фильм как по мне просто ужасен у него нет ничего общего с прошлыми частями. Герои какие-то дураки они не могут сделать логичные вещи в каких либо ситуациях!
