Ultimately, the success of Wyrmwood comes down to confidence. Roache-Turner is like the mad doctor in the film itself, experimenting with his genre with a dance in his step and a maniacal smile.
The Roache-Turners prove to have the right mix of micro-budget filmmaking ingenuity, action sass and undead splatter to make "Wyrmwood" a tastier than usual exploitation nosh.

This is an amazing Zombie flick that breathes fresh air into a tired genre, as well as a well-deserved kick in the arse. What you get here is a funny, fast, gore-laden splat-fest, which is held together by a decent story, with some original twists, great direction and good acting. A MUST-SEE for all Zombie-Heads.

An awesome mix of Zombies/Mad Max/Carrie/and Bood Drive (2017 Syfy show). I don't think I can say more! One point off because I would have liked to know what the military/mad doctor was actually trying to achieve with his experiments.

Ambulant corpses may be tramping all over our movie and television screens these days, but Wyrmwood has enough novelty — and more than enough energy — to best its minuscule budget.
Fans will clamor for Wyrmwood 2; the brothers have the talent to aim higher.
Although distinguished by some wildly staged vehicular chase sequences and genuinely witty deadpan dialogue, the film inevitably feels like a footnote to the plethora of similarly themed movies and television shows that seem to arrive on a weekly basis.
In the end, despite its quirky twists on the genre, Wyrmwood is just another zombie flick, riffing on its predecessors and hoping that’ll suffice. It needed more creativity. Or more passion. Both, maybe?
Clearly aiming for “cult classic,” Wyrmwood is too basic to be anything more than a forgettable bro-pocalypse.
Wyrmwood Road of the Dead is one of the most entertaining zombie flicks ever made. It's funny, it's outrageous -- spooky, too. Heck, if you don't like this film then you probably liked Pride & Prejudice & Zombies and deserve to watch it 100 times non-stop while strapped into a chair.

I heard it was called Mad Max with Zombies and that intrigued me enough, I cannot deny it. I don't think it was quite that way but it seemed interesting to me that it manages to balance comedy with seriousness which prevents it from becoming a complete horror film but evidently its bases are more rooted to that element. After all are zombies of what we're talking about here.
But I think this is where it lies what for some part of the audience can be good and for others something bad, because depending on your expectations this film will not be scary or funny but if you are willing to see it to appreciate its details you can enjoy it better.
It's not a remarkable film, but it's practically basic entertainment. The script is at least appreciable because it tries to innovate in an exhausted genre but its cast doesn't do it many favors and in the end it's still a film that you will forget as soon as you finish it

Feels like they were more interested in making a cool music video/80's action flick than a zombie movie with any sort of grounding in reality. When Barry, the protagonist, first encounters a zombie - we're treated to a quick-cut edit of him being the cool action guy and "suiting up". It might work in something like Zombieland, but this movie is trying to take itself too seriously for it to work. There's at least a dozen better zombie flicks available. Don't waste your time on this unless you're truly desperate.

Wyrmwood should be given credit for original concepts and fair acting, beyond that, it's a stinker. What could have come off as a fairly decent, basic zombie flick, it begins to become stupid as the gasoline idea comes into play.
The concept is, the zombies are using the chemical components, such as gasoline, as a energy source. They decide to show that, but putting a match out in a tin of gasoline, to show a highly flammable material has lost it's most important attribute.
I took several OSHA safety classes and we were taught that gasoline, as a liquid isn't flammable, the fumes they give off are. My teacher showed us this, by putting a match out in a tuna can filled with gasoline.
If that wasn't bad enough, they bring into play, an idea that the zombies are using the gas as a means of an energy source and only excrete fumes during the day, using it at night as a energy source.
Such a stupid concept, with such glaring issues can't be ignored. Australia, go home, you're drunk.
