Assisted by his playful cast, Arteta brings so much clear-eyed, character-driven comic mayhem to every scene that even the wildest script contrivances and most egregious McDonald’s product placements (one scene might as well be sponsored by the McGriddle) are graced with an actual sense of fun.

Like its juvenile characters, Yes Day sometimes goes too far, with over-the-top scenes that lessen the impact of the genuine emotions elsewhere. But will kids whine about it (other than for their own Yes Day)? Probably not, and parents likely won’t mind either.

laws are flaws, they exist. But the innocence and sweetness of the film make it likable. Yes Day does not overstay its welcome, and knows exactly what it is. Is the concept of Yes Day original? No. But did I enjoy it more than I care to admit? Yes.

This film is so cliche and ridiculous that it is unnecessary and far from reality. The main actress (mom) acts the same in the film "Going On 30".
