You People sounds preachy, doesn’t it? Trust me, it’s not. What it really is is a master class on wedge issues and our shared humanity, delivered by comedians who know that laughter can be at once a bitter pill and the best medicine.
It comes on like gangbusters and keeps generating belly laughs well past the halfway point, slowing down then to take a GPS-directed turn into familiar romance territory.

My wife and I thought the movie was amazing. Sure, it was a bit cringe, but it was supposed to be. Have you seen any of Jonah Hill's movies?
Their families were supposed to represent a very dramatic version of how people really act in America. The message was great and the actors were phenomenal. You will love this movie if you are able to see the big picture and enjoy a bit of cringy humor.

The movie was very interesting to say the least it added very cultural clarity upon what interracial relationships are facing and what most are afraid of speaking upon. I absolutely enjoyed the movie really loved it.

You People busts out of the gate with the lit, razor-sharp zip of a “Dear White People” only to limp across the finish line with all the edge of Up With People.
With a smooth overlay of LA sights and sounds, and a side of blueprints stolen from “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” and “Meet the Fockers,” “You People” ends up a lot less insightfully funny than “Black-ish.”
You People chooses to bounce along from one awkward situation to the next, with little time to let the characters feel like actual people.
You People carries the unresolved, disjointed tension of a sitcom that’s been stretched to the two-hour mark.
The truth is, “You People” is too confused to be offensive — too inconsequential to merit that level of engagement. But it’s certainly disappointing, virtually from its opening minutes.
After laughing the whole way through the movie I have to say I loved it. Seeing so many of my favorite actors from across Kenya Barris projects like Anthony Anderson, Emily Arlook, Deon Cole, plus the greats like Eddie Murphy, Mike Epps, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and other icons made me love it more. The tension between the Jewish and Black Muslims is very much a real thing and seeing it highlighted was a+. The performances great.

The film has its clever laugh out loud moments but not enough to make this film nothing more than a one watch film that you won’t hate yourself for watching. The cast all do a great job and the writing is good for the most part. The story moves in a predictable way and the film adds little originality to the genre but overall it’s an enjoyable time. 6/10 a low B.

This movie makes you feel uncomfortable, but you're also rooting for the characters to work out together against the family, social, and cultural barriers that threaten to drive them apart. It's a romantic-comedy, but not overly funny. More serious. The ending was pretty shallow and doesn't aim to give any answers to those questions posed in the movie.
