There’s a feminist undercurrent in You Won’t Be Alone, its observations of the patriarchy emerging in ways totally germane to the experience. An odd kind of eroticism also emerges: neither sensual nor entirely gross, and certainly not from the male gaze. Sometimes the film doesn’t even feel like it’s from a human gaze. Read full review

A film that brings a mixture of sensations. A highly sensorial visual work that plays with perceptions. The soundtrack is responsible for the narrative of the story and makes us involved in each scene in a different way. Very interesting and ambitious. Had some incredible moments with some eye popping moments as well. If you are a fan of horror this is a must watch.

A fresh take on witches and or skin-changers that let's the audience see humanity from an entirely different and non-judgmental perspective. There's a lot of poetry here and that's a great thing, and there's a refreshing take on folklore. However, the real magic is the film's humanity.

Even though this is billed as a thriller, it's really more of a bizarre folk tale and that seemingly comforting title is certainly a misnomer. It's set in 19th century Macedonia, when a young woman is transformed to a witch. After that, she proceeds to experience human existence, as sheEven though this is billed as a thriller, it's really more of a bizarre folk tale and that seemingly comforting title is certainly a misnomer. It's set in 19th century Macedonia, when a young woman is transformed to a witch. After that, she proceeds to experience human existence, as she assumes the bodies of several people, including a man and a child (Noomi Rapace is one of her victims). The whole affair has a creepy experimental film vibe. There are some mildly gory moments as she consumes the entrails of her victims, but nothing especially gruesome. The voiceover narration and disjointed narrative create a darkly poetic muse on life. This film is really aimed more at art cinema enthusiasts, NOT horror fans. (Macedonian with subtitles)… Expand
