Whether she's holding notes with the strength of a suspension bridge or enjoying a rare lighthearted "whoo-hoo!" on "Sweetest Devotion," her incredible phrasing – the way she can infuse any line with nuance and power – is more proof that she's among the greatest interpreters of romantic lyrics.

Through 11 effortlessly sophisticated and deeply-layered torch songs, Adele's powerful vocals glide between thunderous roars and rib-cracking falsettos over large dramatic piano swells to fuzzy, warm lower-register rumblings. Ballads are bold and demanding.

Even as she's suffering the romantic disadvantage, Adele infuses the songs of 25 with a love-drunk cockiness, tossing wine by a loose wrist as she reconsiders these departed men.

25 manages to sound all of a piece, even as the songs veer from phenomenal to tepid. In places, everything comes together.

Make no mistake, all 11 songs are of a piece -- they're shaded by melancholy, gaining most of their power through performance -- but that cohesive sound only accentuates how Adele has definitively claimed this arena of dignified heartbreak as her own.

25 is very much Adele playing safe.

Adele’s repetition is anchored further by some of the least dynamic work of her career. There’s nothing here to rival the playful malice of ‘Rumour Has It’ or the instant hit of ‘Rolling In The Deep’.

She's offered up quite of a bit of variation in terms of sound and subject material. But as usual, some reviewers are trying to tag it as another break up album with the same subject material, when it's not at all.

In my opinion, you can't really compare this to 21, because it comes from a much different place and is the perfect ending to her age themed albums. Hello, When We Were Young, Million Years Ago, and All I Ask are future classic potential. And it's very rare to say there are future classics on a modern pop album these days.

Vocally, she sounds better than ever and she continues to prove why she's in another lane from everyone else. Anyone can make this type of music, but only she can sell it to you this way with her voice.

Adele's new album 25 probably won't live up to the legacy of 21, but it shouldn't be compared to it since it isn't trying to be 21. 25 is aAdele's new album 25 probably won't live up to the legacy of 21, but it shouldn't be compared to it since it isn't trying to be 21. 25 is a great album, holding a roster of amazing songs that will probably be playing on the radio nonstop for the next year. This is an album worth buying. Expand

Adele's songs always give that special feeling to the listener, and surely she isn't a singer that all of the ages would love. Adele has manyAdele's songs always give that special feeling to the listener, and surely she isn't a singer that all of the ages would love. Adele has many fans, especially young people. Her voice is truly beautiful and touching/ moving. I would have liked to give it a 10, but i gave -2 points because Adele is a singer and not an actress, her acting in her video clips are 0, but her voice is 10. I would also give 10 points to her song called " Hello". Expand

Adele returns. Yes, 25 is nothing new. It's the same old Adele being confessional and baring her soul. It's not a rebirth in any way, save theAdele returns. Yes, 25 is nothing new. It's the same old Adele being confessional and baring her soul. It's not a rebirth in any way, save the last track Sweetest Devotion about her newborn child. The album could have been about her new role as a mother, the joy. Instead, there is still that tinge of being unable to let go although she wants to. Sometimes, she's bitter. By the time you are halfway through the album and left with the last few tracks before Sweetest Devotion, you will somehow feel mentally exhausted. The best tracks on the album are Send My Love (a surprising collaboration with Max Martin and Shellback), I Miss You, Sweetest Devotion and Love Under The Bridge. Two of the three Target bonus tracks, Why Do You Love Me and Can't Let Go should be on he main album. 25 could have been much more, but it doesn't have to. Why fix it when it ain't broken. The album is not bad by any means, just not great. When Damon Albarn said 25 was very MOR, he was not far from the truth. He was just being honest. Still, watch Adele slay wrists and sales! Expand

A horrible mess of an album. How does a music artist get away with releasing an album exactly the same as her last album? StrategicA horrible mess of an album. How does a music artist get away with releasing an album exactly the same as her last album? Strategic releasing and depressing music in winter, how tactical and pitiful can you get.

Her vocals are awful, this album sounds like whale music. No matter how hard her PR team works with the media to spin 100 positive stories the album is a awful.
