Had never even heard of Torche until I saw them on Kerrang's "Live in the K pit." Absolutely killer performance btw, I immediately checked out the album and so glad I found this band!! The album is pretty near perfect, Heavy, dropped tuning sludgy power riffs in endless supply. The songwriting is genius and transitions are perfect which separates them from others in this genre. This powerhouse Florida stoner/metal/groove band returns for their 6th album, mixing melody, muscle and musical surprises. Some songs just pound, pummel and grind; while others move through a strangely appealing combination of shoegaze, doom and punk. And Torche never ignores the melody. RIYL: Fu Manchu, Nothing, Baroness, Kyuss, Mastodon, Queens Of The Stone Age. “Admission” extends the band’s legacy as one of the most innovative and powerful groups to explore the odd arena of groove-driven metal doom-pop. Torche’s engagingly awry blend of harmony and heaviosity finds full fruition on Admission, an album you might feel somewhat ashamed for enjoying so thoroughly. [Sep 2019, p.61]

There are numerous peaks on what might be Torche's finest album since 2008's Meanderthal. [20 Jul 2019, p.58]

Pop-metal, stoner rock, doom metal—whatever amalgam of buzzwords you favor, on Admission, Torche remain a reliable supplier of grizzled riffs to test the low end on your stereo. The stylistic guises don’t always fit, but that’s a function of the group’s creative restlessness.
