    What a disappointment... I don’t think I ever had this much expectations for an album, but what I listened to was just meh. This album is so boring and most of the songs sound the same, except… the singles... I just hate so much when an artist puts more effort on their singles than the rest of the songs, which is sad in this case because I found the storytelling very good.     Whilst i can respect the weeknd's affinity for reinvention ajd fascination with retro sounds i cannot say i enjoyed this record. It felt mediocre, bland and derivative. Nothing about after hours feels relevant,instead its a vapid depressive episode.

From Alone Again to Final Lullaby, Abel delivered a very special album. Save Your Tears, Alone Again & Hardest To Love are my favorites, but the hits are obviously, apart from Save Your Tears, In Your Eyes, Heartless and, of course,After Hours is the perfect album for those who like to listen to a full-filled production and a unique sonority.     Whilst this is the first album I've listened to in full by The Weeknd, it definitely did not disappoint. It gives off a very 80s vibe, especially with all the electropop and synthpop included. My personal favourites were 'Hardest To Love', and 'In Your Eyes'. It's a great record!

    É bom o álbum, não me entenda errado mas acho algumas faixas muita parecidas com as outras, óbvio que traz uma excelência, com inspiração dos anos 80, bem nostálgico; com um ar psicodélico típico do The Weeknd, porém não diria ser um dos melhores álbuns deles, no entanto não deixa a desejar trazendo cultura para o público jovem, com nuances do R&B.

We have some amazing pop tracks like In your eyes and the lead single Blinding Lights, and some emotional and melancholic tracks like after hours, they fit very well and you feel that everything its on its perfect spot making this album and unbelievable experience. The ambientation is the best thing of it, it really put you into that story that its being told, 9/10 nothing to complain about it, simply perfect.… Expand

    One of the most overrated artists today who sees himself as Michael Jackson, lol. The Weeknd ran to Max Martin, wanting to make hits desperately, thinking he might sweep Grammys. Guess what happened? He didn't even get a nomination, then cried like a baby everywhere. Accept it: your album sucks and no one knows your non-single album tracks. King of payola failed hard this time. Awful.

    Not being bias here as a fan of Abel, but this is one of his best work since House of Balloons. Amazing productions, vocals, and lyrics aswell. I feel like the only problem with this album was that 3 part section of 80s production on tracks 9-11. Even though they're both good tracks standing by themselves, it can get repetitive listening to those tracks in order. After Hours masterfully fuses the energy of Starboy and The Weeknd's previous works to both deliver his signature style and be accessible to a wider audience. The instrumentals sound heavenly and atmospheric at times but they're grounded when necessary too, and paired with Abel's smooth voice, this album becomes his best sounding one yet.

    Furthermore, not only did The Weeknd perfect his sound, he exceeded all of my expectations for lyrical quality and then some. From the opening of "Alone Again" to the close of "Until I Bleed Out," these songs tell a story of recovery and healing, whether it be from lost love or drug addiction. Some songs are better than others, for sure, but more than anything each one feels like a chapter in something greater. After Hours is one of the most powerful stories ever told through music, and without a doubt, one of the greatest albums of the new century.    … Expand

    This is truly a masterpiece, the most beautiful lyrics, vocals and melodies, easily the best album I´ve listened to in my life. I listen to it almost everyday since it´s release and the songs just keep getting better each time. I can´t even pick a favorite. Flawless!

Every song, even when some lyrics fall short , is a piece in a tale of emotions and pain that you simply cannot stop feeling the protagonist of. This style of R&B doesn't make it easy for us and contributes to lose ourselves in a grotesque fresco, sometimes flat and dull, sometimes dancing or quiet but very rarely surprising, even if the few electro-like flights of fancy are admirable (as in the track 'After Hours'). The modified voice of the artist becomes in the space of a few tracks unbearable, repetitive and haunting.

    All the promotion of this album that the fans have been waiting for no less than 4 years is outrageous. It became more otrageous when you realize it worked in a surprising way. The Weeknd doesn't have any remorse to capitalize on its recordings and doesn't hesitate to release several different deluxe versions and to make a series of remixes and covers more or less remarkable. The instrumental versions add to the indecency of the approach. I am not fooled by the deception of the project. Soon (and currently, by the way) the official music videos created from colossal sums of money will invade the platforms and add to the so-called supremacy of the artist.    … Expand

    The Weeknd delivers back to back 10/10 pop albums with After Hours. I really didn't think, that Abel would be able to make a pop album as good as Starboy - but he really did. The production, the vocal delivery and overall vibe on this album makes this a classic pop album. And Abel now has two of them.

    This man is so talented, vocally and lyrically. really enjoyed this album and songs such as snowchild, faith, escape from LA and hardest to love are so beautiful that make this album go from a 8/9 rating to a 10. Abel never disappoints, even though his sound changes, he kinda came back to his roots in this album which i’m soooo happy about - i have been a fan of his for a long time

Although I think that some songs can be considered as skips I feel like some songs are overproduced even though it might’ve been the intention.     This album doesn’t have a single bad song. When you listen, The Weeknd takes you to his world. The vocals and production are incredible. After Hours is easily album of the year.

    Brilliant Album, Vocally improved, Sonically perfect, production levels have gone up substantially. The album is Cohesive and nothing feels out of place.

    Best album of 2020!!! I have listened to many new music of this year and this album is definitely the best. I’m obsessed with After Hours, so I’m excited to hear what Abel has next!

    One of my best albums during the pandemic. I am not a fan of the weeknd but I really like some of his works. The biggest song on the album is still held by Blinding Lights. That's phenomenal!

    It is not possible that I just saw the nominations and I cannot believe that this album did not have a single nomination.

    The Ideal Album: Sonically coherent, thematical, story telling perfection. Funny thing i noticed is the story moves both lyrically and sonically. Also with very high replay value.The Synth fest on the intro is my favourite piece of the album.

    one of the most experimental & different album of the year! it was way too long but im not mad about it. some of the song could’ve been better or not see the daylight. it’s an okay album. if he wins the AOTY i would be happy for him!!!!!

    The sequencing of the tracks is just amazing. No skips for me and plenty of hits. I believe it’s a classic. My first review on this site and it’s worth the time. Must listen.
