    While the title track's big-hearted buildup channels the crew's establishing alt-pop buoyancy, new ideas stagger the 11 tracks. Monolithic "MetaGoth" and smoky ballad "Walking With a Killer" work through internal frustrations, eloquently tracking out a new era for the Breeders.

    The title track and the genuinely brilliant ‘MetaGoth’ Stripped to the bone and not so much sung as intoned by Josephine Wiggs, this is one of the creepiest yet compelling compositions The Breeders have ever put their name to. From there on in, the album goes through a variety of fits and starts before descending into anticlimax.

    Kim Deal showcases her talent on The Breeders 5th studio album showing that even in her 50’s she’s still a force to be reckoned with.

    I've listened to it a lot in the last few weeks, maybe the full album 7-8 times. id say i love the energy for the first few songs, then metaI've listened to it a lot in the last few weeks, maybe the full album 7-8 times. id say i love the energy for the first few songs, then meta goth is odd one, then, the one about beachballs is awesome, then the mood change for the last few song is awesome, blues at the Acropolis is one of my favs.

    there's more to be said but i think you should just listen to the album yourself, its great to know there is still some musicians i like out there.

    walking with a killer is also really interesting.

You'd think some kind of musical growth would have taken hold by now. As a result, it's already out of my rotation. It was fun while it lasted (all four days). Next time, Kim, try less hammer and more divine. Or even more Josephine: her vocal on "Metagoth" was one of the few surprises.… Expand
