A powerful sound, dark lyrics and a unique style. All the songs are made with love and passionated. The complete album is a different turn compared with White Noise and much better in every single way. Is a perfect second album for PVRIS. LOVE IT.

One of the best albums released this year. PVRIS made a step forward in quality of their music, lyrics. They continued touching souls of their listeners with their powerful melodies and texts. Lynn Gunn`s voice just breaks through your head into your heart and leaves no way for you to not to love this masterpiece. Good luck to guys from PVRIS! Hope, they won`t let me down with their next album!

An incredibly intricate and powerful album. It draws upon influences from numerous genres and doesn't neatly fit into any single one.

It is 'pop' enough to hook casual listeners if they give it a bit of time.

Worth it for any music enthusiast.

This is another new addition to my library and also another angle I did not expect my tastes to head: toward this incredibly interesting Massachusetts outfit. Initially when I first heard PVRIS in August, I liked it at the around the same level that I liked Eisley (see Narrow Misses below) and almost wrote it off as a “good but not quite”. But what surprised me and also earned it a spot in the top 10 was the severe resurgence it made in my tastes throughout November/December. I just couldn’t get enough of it for weeks and it dawned on me that this was an unbelievable album.

Despite suffering from stupidly long title-itis like I The Mighty (let’s call it Heaven/Hell for now), there’s so much to love about this record. Lynn Gunn’s vocals are absolutely exceptional and she comes right at you in Heaven, the opening track oozes passion. Throughout Heaven/Hell the engagingly atmospheric electronic rock sound blended with elongated vocal hooks (Anyone Else) and vivid drum pacing (Walk Alone) makes for an engaging and entertaining listen. It’s tough to compare PVRIS to other artists, maybe it’s just because I haven’t been around this style for long, but the best comparison I could make is a mix between Thirty Seconds to Mars and Paramore. The album reaches its climax on No Mercy, a much quicker (almost punk) track with the insanely memorable “there’s blood in the water but it tastes so sweet” by Gunn. The hairs on my neck shoot upright on every listen.

Best Tracks: Heaven - Anyone Else - Walk Alone - No Mercy

Sounds from their previous record carry over and mature throughout this LP. It expresses a more mature side of PVRIS’s sound. Very enjoyable

I discovered this album before the start of COVID. I knew PVRIS from the Warped Tour and White Noise, so I knew this album was going to be chock full of amazing lyrics and hard-hitting production. This is definitely the album of my life. If you enjoy heavy production, addicting melodies, and unforgettable lyrics; this album is for you.

Much tighter and more cohesive than 'White Noise'. Every track works and isn't simply filling space. Winter and Nola 1 are my standouts. Gunn's lyricism continues to shine through.

Their music is tighter, sharper and aiming for the jugular in its first shot. In the simplest terms, the band crafted a record that fills the bigger venues they are sure to be playing now and in the future.

PVRIS might have been to hell and back, but a new era is here, and it’s utterly brilliant.

By the time ‘No Mercy’ arrives, there’s no escaping how catchy this record is.
