It’s definitely in need of a more brutal edit: the 18-song tracklist is a little bloated and some songs such as ‘Don’t Go Hungry’ (which features Labrinth doing his best Weeknd impression) are pretty forgettable. However, there are enough bangers on here to keep you hitting the replay button, with Giggs’ unique vocal delivery never anything but interesting. He sounds ready to reign for a long time yet.

It is a fearsome set of gangsta rap tracks that eschews grime for more transatlantic trap and hip-hop production. The beats are grandiose, murderous things; Giggs enunciates every single bar, ensuring no words pass you by.

It’s clear he’s still able to switch on a plausible menace when the situation demands. In that balance and his gleefully amateur unretouched singing lies the heart of a great album. [May 2019, p.68]

Big Bad feels like the perfect distillation of the raw energy and menace that Giggs has brought to UK music, only this time it's been taken to a whole new level.

Big Bad... is yet another example of his continued career elevation, signaling what is possible if you stick to your guns while caring little for what others think.

This album is really all over the place regarding style but I guess you could call it a Grime-Trap combination. It has the usual trap ad-libsThis album is really all over the place regarding style but I guess you could call it a Grime-Trap combination. It has the usual trap ad-libs and trap topics.
It's a pretty long record at 18 songs and it could really be shorter because some songs just sound similar and like filler material.
The beats and production are alright but they aren't good enough to carry Giggs through this record. Lyrics are bland and just boring most of the time. The delivery is alright too and the best thing is the voice of Giggs which is very unique.
This is really bang average record in the middle of the park.
