While Chemtrails was cause for concern that Del Rey had perhaps lost her magic touch, Banisters is a reminder that when the singer-songwriter is in charge of her vision and fully taps into her emotions, she’s still capable of crafting breathtaking beauty.

She has often made intimacy seem transactional. But here, it feels pure.

‘Blue Banisters’ presents a collection of sun-kissed moments and hazy memories, free from judgement and firmly rooted in place.

    A lyrically strong album. [Jan 2022, p.82]

Blue Banisters sprawls and elaborates past the point where we can place our own projections onto it. We know too much. But at its best, this music offers an even more rewarding thrill: It manages to entertain, enrapture, and even surprise because of how well we know Lana Del Rey—and how much there is still to learn.

The accumulation of these ideas can become monochromatic, meandering, and repetitive; apt background music for loitering in the bath. The most pleasurable and moving, even unsettling, moments on Blue Banisters arrive when Del Rey breaches, however gently, her own boundaries.

Despite the wavering quality, Blue Banisters is an important addition to Lana lore. That she can still manage to be this perplexing after a decade in the game is a massive achievement.

Beauty of simplicity. Best lyricist of our generation. Lana did it again, twice in a year.

This time, it does a little more about personal issues, in tracks that seem to have all been made during the pandemic's isolation period. Although sounds sad, there is a lot of hope in this album, so many attempts to find beauty in the organic relationships of everyday life, in the fact of feeling and in the capacity to love. Expand

Though she included some old songs here, new ones are great and really picture one new lana, empowered, feminine, full of strength in the alternative music industry.
Here I would go with Dealer, Black Bathing Suit, Arcadia and Sweet Carolina. Cherry Blossom is a beautiful song too.
