    Kurt Vile es el claro ejemplo de tomar un simple detalle y hacer de ello, una gran exploración, con altos y bajos, espacios y tiempos. Nación en Lansdowne, Pennsylvania y graba desde que tiene 14 años. Al crecer, en el 2005 se convirtió en el co-fundador de the War On Drugs y al poco tiempo se separó para establecer su propia carrera musical. En el 2008 the War On Drugs saca    ( 78/100 )

    Kurt Vile es el claro ejemplo de tomar un simple detalle y hacer de ello, una gran exploración, con altos y bajos, espacios y tiempos. Nación en Lansdowne, Pennsylvania y graba desde que tiene 14 años. Al crecer, en el 2005 se convirtió en el co-fundador de the War On Drugs y al poco tiempo se separó para establecer su propia carrera musical. En el 2008 the War On Drugs saca su primer álbum y, casi como competencia, él también saca su primer álbum titulado "Constant Hitmaker". De ahí para arriba. Su música se caracteriza por ser un Rock muy suave y suficientemente creativo para ser llamado Indie, pero su intensión es más que nada Psychedelic y LoFi. En "Bottle It In" los productores principales son él, Rob Laakso y Rob Schnapf y logran, con un solo ritmo, una exploración y explotación musical interesante de escuchar, sin embargo, no intrigante. A lo que me refiero es que la música extiende su lindura sin miedo, sin embargo esa extensión solo pretende concientizar a su oyente del camino musical que se construye con la guitarra, el bajo y la misma percusión sin darle mucha importancia a la cantidad de detalles. El sonido y la música concluye por ser simple pero suficientemente sensible y con toques de intensidad correctamente puestos como para que el viaje no sea monótono y aburrido, sino placentero, ameno y con intensiones de hacer de cada paso en el asfalto, uno con ritmo y alegría. Hay un punto en el que, en ese paseo, la música comienza a invisibilizarse o dormirse, pero inmediatamente recobra su ritmo observacional y ambiental que pretende embellecer con sus cuerdas, el día de cada persona. El proyecto es totalmente positivo y se lo dedica a su propio espacio, uno relacionado con infracciones de transito y estaciones del año; a su propio tiempo, uno que comparte con sus hijas y esposa y, asimismo, a ciertas inquietudes que lo privan de esa intención de observación y presencia. Todo sin dejar de contagiar, con suavidad, la sensación placentera de existir y permitirnos sentir esa existencia.    … Expand

    Listening to this album, you can sometimes get the sense that it's intended as a parody to the genres it plays with, but ultimately each song is a towering achievement in its respective category. It's oddly satisfying and comforting and I just love listening to this album.
    Truly though, the masterpiece of this release is the singular "One Trick Ponies."     Bottle It In may not be the necessary departure that will either bring Vile new listeners or pull existing listeners away from their favorites. But it's an album made to be a "grower", designed for lengthy fall strolls through ankle-high paths of leaves. Its biggest obstacle may not be its length, but the time span a listener is willing to invest.

    Across 80 sprawling minutes, Vile does lose his focus occasionally, most notably on the 10-minute title track, which fails to gain much in the way of traction, and the similarly unremarkable Cold Was the Wind. Still, this is an album to savour.
