Brighter Wounds poses more questions than answers--but that uncertainty only makes the record more absorbing.

The arrival of his first child and Trumpism, shadowed by a friend's death, have filled Brighter Wounds with heightened bliss and anxiety. [Mar 2018, p.94]

If appreciation of the familiar done well is comforting, appreciation for the unfamiliar done well is bracing. Music like this opens windows and doors, letting in the fresh airs of possibility of what can come from whipping the backside of imagination and watching it run free.

Though refreshingly bold at key moments, Brighter Wounds still doesn’t challenge itself enough to be considered a radical and departure from its predecessors.

Great album - totally personal, with godlike sound and even better lyrics. For me - it's the best of Son Lux, equally good as "Lanterns" -Great album - totally personal, with godlike sound and even better lyrics. For me - it's the best of Son Lux, equally good as "Lanterns" - sometimes I would say it's even better, maybe not as catchy, but I think in here it's more about the experience. The only flaw is that "Young" is to short. Expand

The "Brighter Wounds" is a record that claims the title of the most extraordinary release of the beginning of 2018.
