The production is incredible. The lyrics are accessible.A departure from the usual themes with impressive results. Well done.

Some of the hardest productions and lyrics I've heard from Q, although he's more restrained in his introspection and could've gone deeper. CrasH Talk is the first blemish on Q's discography. Such a shame after waiting 3 years since his last project, Blank Face LP, which was absolutely fantastic. This album, although taking 3 years, somehow has feeling that it was rushed. It has some great songs (Tales, Numb Numb Juice, 5200) that feel album worthy, but the rest of the album feels hollow and contains filler tracks. ScHoolboy Q's CrasH Talk is a good album, although it's not his best work as his other albums. I like a couple of songs on the album. Like "Drunk ft 6lack" was a dope song, "5200" was amazing, and "Dangerous ft Kid Cudi" was dope. But there are like two songs on the album that I thought was corny. Like "Chopstix" with Travis Scott, I thought that was alright, the beat is nice, and ScHoolboy Q killed it on the song; however, and even though I'm a Travis Scott fan, his chorus on the song was a bit weak. And the other song "Water" with Lil Baby was one of the worst songs off the album, and Lil Baby did not have to be on the song. The production on the album is dope though, and ScHoolboy Q did his thing in the album. In the end, it's a good album, but to be honest, I would consider being his worst album to date. 8/10 Expand

First impression is not a good one. Then from Water you feel thirsty, then you get Dangerous and dance , Floating to have some Tales to tell and call Attention and in the end you Die with Em. History Schoolboy Q, in some years this will be a rare 10s-20s rap ep :)

I'm disappointed. Much worse than the previous album. Only a few good songs and 70% is pure garbage.

The long awaited comeback from Mr. Quincy falls a tad bit short, as Crash talk neither surpasses Oxymoron or Blank Face LP. I do really enjoy some of the songs on here, hence the good score, but there is just to much mediocrity to give it any higher. Chopstixx by far det worst song on the album, and seemed shoehorned in from label (Same goes for features from Travis, lil baby and 6lack).The long awaited comeback from Mr. Quincy falls a tad bit short, as Crash talk neither surpasses Oxymoron or Blank Face LP. I really enjoy Travis and 6lack but their features are not adding anything to Q, Travis's feature on chopstixx is also by far the worst contribution from Mr. Scott i've ever heard.

The mellow moments stand out were Q is introspective along some bangers that feel like prime blank face or oxymoron! These are the songs that make me return to Q and the album, whether he is really introspective with a good flow, or makes a straight up banger like we all want from him.

All in all i really enjoy the album, but somehow i feel slightly let down from Schoolboy Q.. Maybe that is because with a little more effort and a tighter package excluding songs like Chopstixx this would've been a much better album. And it definitely didn't take three years to make, he has managed his time badly in that respect.

Favorite tracks: Numb numb juice, Dangerous, Tales, 5200, Crash, Attention

Least favorite: Chopstixx, Drunk, water, black folk

Honorable mentions: Die wit em, floating

I found this to be average in almost every sense. It was mostly forgettable. I don't even remember enough of it to think of any pros or cons. It's just an average album.

CrasH Talk sounds strangely dated and is a disappointingly safe effort from Q following Blank Face.

FAV TRACKS: TALES, 5200, FLOATING, DIE WITH EM, WATER

    LEAST FAV TRACK: CHOPSTIX

Very disappointing. Lazy songwriting. Weak flows. Unmemorable beats. TOO SHORT. The brevity of the songs is something that does not benefit Q like some of the newer rappers and is definitely the weakest part of the album. There is also rarely a moment where Q uses his aggressive flows that everyone has come to love. Numb Numb Juice set the standard high with being a fantastic single but IVery disappointing. Although I believe this is not as good as Blank Face or Oxymoron, this album still stands on its own. Many people aren't enjoying this album as much as I am, but Schoolboy q delivers some bangers on this including 5200, Numb Numb Juice, Water, Crash, Die Wit Them. I also really enjoy some of the storytelling tracks like Attention and tales. This was an ok album for Q. It has some bangers like Q usually does, but it also has some other stuff on it that kinda diverges away such as Drunk or Dangerous. Q on some tracks though, sound like he doesn't even want to be in the studio. Best tracks are Tales; Attention; Numb Numb Juice; 5200; and CrasH.

Perhaps the problem is linked to the poor quality of the beats, which sound monotonous in most of the cases: songs such as Floating give really good initial impressions, but the lack of a climax in the beat kind of subtract energy to the song, making it result quite boring, or disappointing. Something similar happens to Attention, a song which provides a very good lyrical component but doesn't last as long as you might expect or want, and quite ends abruptly and awkwardly Expand

ScHoolboy Q is back at it again with his incredible lyricism and production. Emphasis on the "again." This whole album, while far from bad, just feel svery boring and safe. Personally, while writing this I went to put down that it had an hour long runtime and when I went to check, it was only 40! So maybe I'm misremembering or maybe it was just that much of a slog .I went into this neutral and came out slightly better off than I was.

There are without doubt a few tracks on this album that could make it to your favorite ScHoolboy playlist but said “few” don’t outweigh the remaining dozen that fall flat on their blank face.
  2. The album’s slower tempo won’t be for everyone: if you’re all thrills, no substance, then maybe this album is not for you. But you have to respect ScHoolboy Q’s dedication to showing us a different outlook on life, and exploring many emotions. Introspective--yes, but these are songs for the summer.

At 40 minutes, this is easily Q's leanest LP. It would be meaner with the removal of the inane Travis Scott collaboration "CHopstix," the uncharacteristic single.
