An absolute melting pot of all the great music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. This is where it all began and stands as a bench mark of what a great album should be. You probably already own this but if not then get it. This brought guitar music back to the masses and put simply is one of the best albums of all time.

While I will say that Oasis are 'definitely' not the most original when it comes to writing music, they have made some of the best songs of the 90's, and with this debut album, they really showed what they were capable of straight off the bat. The 3 disc re-release sounds awesome and any Oasis fan will quickly run through the album and the bonus 2 discs in no time. Love it. 10/10

Best album. End of story. Other than maybe what's the story morning glory. But Oasis? NOBODY touched them in the 90's. Except maybe Radiohead. Live Forever, Slide Away and Supersonic on the same album? Come on.

Best Oasis album ever. Columbia, Rock N Roll Star and Live Forever promote the album to being on of the best throughout the 90's. Although Cigarettes & Alcohol is blatantly stolen from T.Rex, Oasis still make it their own in addition to writing their own music. **** brilliant and one of the best albums of all time.

That album is definitely a pure 10/10. Best debut album of all the time and one of the greatest albums ever. No maybe.

Pretty much everyone who was a teenager or in their 20's in the mid 90's will either own a copy of this record or else will know someone who does. While it's follow up, "What's The Story (Morning Glory)?" went on to define the Britpop era, Oasis' first record has some equally great songs but the record as a whole is rawer and less polished, something for many makes it more appealing.Pretty much everyone who was a teenager or in their 20's in the mid 90's will either own a copy of this record or else will know someone who does. While it's follow up, "What's The Story (Morning Glory)?" went on to define the Britpop era, Oasis' first record has some equally great songs but the record as a whole is rawer and less polished, something for many makes it more appealing. Starting with the negative side first, for me it's got 2 tracks in "Up in the Sky" and "Digsy's Diner" that are decent but not really great and this stops the album from being an out and out all time classic. Some might say (see what I did there ;-) "Definitely Mayb"e is over rated and see Noel Gallagher as a plagiariser rather than a genius but if you listen to this now, over 2 decade on, after all the hype and talk has died off, it's still sounds great to my ears. It's lasted and has stood the ultimate test, that being the test of time. The highlights have to be "Rock n Roll Star", the magnificient "Live Forever", "Supersonic" and the often overlooked "Slide Away". While I feel WTSMG is a better record and has more class, Oasis never quite had the same energy again in their career as they had on "Definitely Maybe". If you like your Rock with a bit of an anthemic feel, look no further. Expand

One of the best albums of the 90's. It came when all the bands where immersed in irony, and today still sounds fresh and unique. This album will Live Forever.

Although I am not Oasis' biggest fan, I will humbly acknowledge this to be one of the 1990s finest albums. Um dos melhores discos da década de 90, sem dúvidas. Live Forever e Slide Away são preciosidades.

Maybe the best debut album of all time. There is not one bad song on this record. Live Forever is potentially Oasis' best song (Stop ranting already you Wonderwall fanboys/fangirls). Supersonic and Bring it on Down are just beautifully noisy songs. Slide Away is a genius love song and Married with Children is just a big **** you towards relationship.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I can't explain how happy I am that this remastered album is out and in my hands. It's a shame that not all of Oasis' records could've been this perfect, but I am perfectly content with what we have.

Me ha parecido un álbum maravilloso, definitivamente ha marcado una pauta dentro de mí. Rock'n'Roll Star simplemente se ve como la entrada a un maravilloso álbum, con maravillosas canciones.

This is one of the best albums of the 90's and even ever. Great songwriting that comes from a place of both longing and passion for life. Not a single bad song on this album.

An absolute masterpiece, Supersonic, Live Forever, Slide Away, Rock'n Roll Star in the same album, that's insane.

Incredible. Extraordinary. Noel's lyrics mean something different to every single listener, which is what makes the contents so iconic. Liam's voice is at peak performance and still fresh even 25 years later. This record could fit with the "big boys" and not look out of place.

An excellent debut in which Oasis defines their style and creates some iconic songs that are better than Wonderwall.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This album is era-defining. From songs like "Rock 'n' Roll Star" to "Married With Children", every song on the album leads the listeners into a new world or genre that would be essential to the development of the Britpop genre. The album features great singles such as "Live Forever" and "Supersonic", wlmakes this album near flawless. The vocals on this album was exceptional, a 21 year old Liam Gallagher was unbelievable. This album would've turned Oasis from just a underground indie group to one of the biggest bands of the 90's. Expand

Probably one of the best debut albums (and albums in general) of all time. This is more than just a rock or pop album, it takes you on a journey that is both evocative of a period in life, but also timeless. The range of songs is perfect too, starting with Rock n Roll Star and ending with Married With Children.

This remains the Gallagher brothers' finest hour, and one of the great debuts of the last 20 years. [No. 109, p.57]

Packaged with some afterthe-event boisterousness courtesy of Neil McCormick’s sleevenotes and a sprinkling of mythologising, Definitely Maybe remains classic enough.

Don’t be surprised if this box set doesn’t drastically change your preconceived notions of what this already-iconic album is about, but for those who think the Gallagher’s never got better than this, consider this the only Oasis box set you will ever need.
