    It's refreshing to hear an album that makes its case without squawking or screaming, without excess and with an intelligence that either makes it destined for greatness or threatens to relegate it to critical obscurity.

    Yes, this is confessional song writing but it’s done in the spirit of helping others who have felt similar emotions. She’s baring her soul in a selfless manner, hoping to help others move forward. The sound of Lucette is appropriately contemplative and reflective. It stands apart from most.

    Where Black Is the Color was a debut of haunting folk-noir, Deluxe Hotel Room is a collection of emotive ballads that reveal an artist on the go who isn't afraid to make space for herself.

    Shifting perspectives as it changes colors, Deluxe Hotel Room is proudly, almost defiantly urban; the songs are concerned with a decaying relationship and the production is sophisticated, purposely blurring lines between styles and eras.
