  1. She's never sounded less eager to please or more messily human.
  2. Her jump dancewards is curious commercially, but thoroughly worthwhile artistically.
  3. On Dignity she makes some serious headway into turning into a mature recording artist, which makes this an effective, strangely endearing album.
  4. Duff set out to make an adult dance-pop record, with surprisingly successful results.
  5. For all its inadequacies, Dignity is a solid, cleverly-constructed pop album.
  6. Dignity is bland by any standard.
  7. It’s bland, boring and just not very good.

Songs like "Stranger" "With Love" Play With Fire" and "Between You and I" have Hilary's pop roots, but songs like "Gypsy Woman", "DIgnity" and " Burned" have a darker side of Hilary that no one's ever really seen. I applaud this album because Hilary sounds more original and less like the bubble gum pop artists of this generation Expand

I've enjoyed Hilary Duff since her Lizzie McGuire days on Disney, and I snagged this CD from my little sister. I was shocked at what a I've enjoyed Hilary Duff since her Lizzie McGuire days on Disney, and I snagged this CD from my little sister. I was shocked at what a great pop album it turned out to be, and I anticipate that this will become part of the soundtrack to my summer. Sure, it's derivative. But she stole from all the right people. Expand

A vapid, meaningless, inherently superficial piece of Disney trash. The "music" is laughable, formulaic techno-dance pop bullshit.
