Mar 15, 2017First of all this albums is garbage. No redeeming factor whatsoever. Same old cheesy horrendous ballads and a couple of catchy but tragic songs. Why this album is so populat is BEYOND ME. I don't get the appeal. It's full of overdone cliche songs. Someone delete this from the history of music

Mar 3, 2017Sheeran's cheesiest album to date. The ballads have a lot of potential but failed lyrically. The pop sounds felt cluttered and all over the place. All songs sound familiar.
-
Mar 4, 2017The worst album from Ed Sheeran, + and × are better than this **** all songs sound similar, a cheap thrills copy on the album, the album needs attention that's why he talked about Gaga, Katy, and try to put Adele and Taylor to the top of everything
Nothing iconic in the album -
Mar 4, 2017Too Generic. Except ''Shape of You'' whole album kind of sounds the same. Lacks vastness. Stands no where near ''STARBOY'' by The Weeknd or ''Sweet.Sexy.Savage.'' by Kehlani.
-
Mar 3, 2017Tragic. Generic. Boring. That's all I can say about this awful album. I can't actually believe I wasted my time listening to this. I was expecting more of Ed Sheeran.

Apr 1, 2017Middling with a few great exceptions, Ed Sheeran's downbeat 'Divide' is a collection of generic ballads with each song having one nuance to stand out. The best songs are when he experiments with different genres, or delves deep into the lyrics. Unfortunately, most of his songs are simply bland love songs.
-
Aug 8, 2017This years best album so far, that's for sure. Don't get these hateful comments on album, but whatever. "Shape Of You", "Perfect", "Galway Girl", "Castle On The Hill", "Eraser", "Dive" and "Happier" are golden songs.

May 14, 2017This is the epitome of modern musical plainness, with nothing but short market-approved tunes that overshadow any attempt from Sheeran to show ambition and leave behind a bitter taste to listeners who truly care about music. My Score: 94/180 (Deficient) = 5.2/10

Jun 25, 2017I don't know how anyone could call him a good song-writer. Divide is by far his worst album: he is trying too hard to be catchy, all the singles that have been released are boring, generic, pop songs with awful lyrics.
-

-
Nov 9, 2017Reductive, uninspired and nothing that we haven't seen before on his previous efforts. "Divide" is a boring and plain album that offers nothing new or exciting to the pop music sphere in 2017.
-
Jun 24, 2017unfortunately, Ed Sheeran disappointed everyone with a generic and bland Cd, It was way too boring and there was no essence of him, I can ensure you that this album have been released by anyone. I still like him, anyway.

Nov 9, 2017Даже не знаю,что сказать про этот альбом.Ну чисто альбом сделанный для маленьких девочек лет 10-17 которые ждут принца на белом коне.Короче-альбом полное говно .

Jan 6, 2018An excellent album, and every song is fantastic. It deserves a better score.
-
Jan 22, 2018Smart album, presumptuos lyrics, beautiful sound, but still falls short compared to Ed's previous efforts. Formulaic and comfortable.
'Castle on the hill', 'Galway Girl' and 'Supermarket flowers' save most of the album. -

Oct 3, 2018May not be the most original artist, but Ed Sheeran is one friendly, talented chap. And the songs here just JAM.
-
Oct 11, 2019El mejor trabajo de Ed hasta ahora, buenas letras, ritmos variados e himnos como Shape of you y Perfect

Aug 28, 2020Definitely the best album of Ed Sheeran. I love how it has an upbeat, ballad, and dreamy songs all in one yet the album remains cohesive and likable.
-
Aug 30, 2020Dude, this album is one of my favourites! Ed Sheeran doesn't have one bad song.

Mar 4, 2017The album is kinda disappointing, has some bops like New Man and Perfect but is totally forgettable; that Barcelona song is awful, looks like at some point the worst Shakira and Piqué are going to show up and Catalonia becomes Panama. Benny Blanco did an amazing album producing though.
-
Apr 11, 2017I love this album! Shape of you is an amazing hit and I can't help myself from listening to it a lot of times! the deluxe tracks are even better! Barcelona should be promoted as a summer hit
-
Mar 10, 2017He simply made this album to become richer and more famous, and surely he will because it has easy songs and a lot of ballads, which he is known for. But it's really bad in terms of quality. Ed became obsessed with fame and money, and maybe that's the problem, because + and X were really good.
-
Mar 12, 2017Extremely generic and bland. The basic pop music needed to rule the charts without actually having any impact. The soundings of a sad work with blazing numbers!
-

-
Apr 23, 2017Excellent album with great songs and a good repertoire. The versatility of the singer and the good melodies. A conceptual album and that the charts reflect how good it is
-
Mar 11, 2017This is one of the most annoying albums i have ever heard.
Ed Sheeran basically became one of the most unoriginal artist of this generation, by making songs only for the radio, throwing his chance of growing as an artist in trash. -
Jun 4, 2017Unfortunately, but this album did not meet my expectations. Only Castle on the Hill and Shape of You are worth listening to. The rest of it is so dolorous, but good to fall asleep quicker.
-
Mar 11, 2017The worst album I ever heard
He believes he makes art and this its just another generic album without soul
In this moment of the history we need real musicians and Ed sheeran is not one of them -
Mar 11, 2017I loved his previous albums but this one seems like he's trying to get a quick hit to appeal to the masses.I feel like he's lost all of his artistic integrity. So disappointed.

Mar 14, 2017Honestly so generic and plagiarized from so many different songs esp. Sia. Can't believe how trash this album is. Yuck. Had trouble listening to even the first song.
-
Mar 24, 2017This album is ok. There's only 4 or 5 truly great songs, the rest really are alright or they are just bad. Not a bad album but for sure not Grammy Worthy.
-
Jun 6, 2017
-
Mar 11, 2017Boring album There's no innovation at all, the songs look the same. Ed this album is really bad. Only Perfect is good. In quality left a lot to be desired.
-
Mar 12, 2017Unoriginal and stupid music he's honestly the most overrated male artist of recent times...he is the male Taylor Swift equivalent. Just mediocre, boring and overhyped drivel
-
Mar 12, 2017Worst album of Ed. Do you consider that your best album? You're crazy man, you shouldn't give shades to other artists, it is ridiculous, I am not kidding.
-
Mar 15, 2017
-
Mar 14, 2017Ed's new album is incredible! Although the tracks deluxes are medium, the other songs show the power of sheeran with the words, whereas the singles until then are hymns to the ears!
-
Jun 16, 2017I just like divide as much as i love plus mutiply, it baffed me that many fans believe that divide can not compete mutiply , i think it's just as good or even better, also as you kan see so many user give '0' with no reason , haters gonna hate ,that's all i can say.
-
Mar 3, 2017This record starts off strong with two songs about interesting and deep topics, then takes an immediate nosedive into the world of generic and rehashed love ballads, none of which are very interesting until Sheeran touches on the loss of his grandmother in the album's closing track.
-
Mar 10, 2017UÓ, SÓ NAO É MAIS CHATO QUE O REGINALDO ROSSI DO US. SHAPE OF YOU BOMBA GENÉRICA E SEM PERSONALIDADE, MUSICAS SEM MELODIAS E DINAMISMO NOS INSTRUMENTAIS... PISEI

Mar 21, 2017Agreed. Worst Album Of the year. Just like a horrible p**n movie which would turned you on just for few minute, then you just pissed off by all this f**king boring stuff without any kind of honesty. Then, you start blame yourself wasting your time for this s**t, this stuff sucks.
-
-
Mar 12, 2017In all the songs is the same basic and boring rhythm. It's the worst album I've ever heard. Maybe the only song that does not look like the others is Shape Of You, but from there on out they all look the same.
-
Mar 22, 2017THIS ALBUM IS UNLISTENBALE He simply made this album to become richer and more famous, and surely he will because it has easy songs and a lot of ballads, which he is known for. But it's really bad in terms of quality. Ed became obsessed with fame and money, and maybe that's the problem, because + and X were really good.

Mar 21, 2017Es un álbum demasiado genérico, la única canción que se salva es "Shape on you", las otras 11 canciones tiene un ritmo muy parecido y la letra cliché para cautivar un publico adolescente.
-
Mar 22, 2017
-
Jun 16, 2017Another brain washing album that contains almost nothing in the songs themselves. I can see that the songs are really catchy, but overall the album does not deserve any praise.
-
Mar 13, 2017This website is a joke. Bunch of Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry, etc gay ass fans giving low notes thinking their faves make good music and because hate him, Gaga fans cause they think he shaded her but he didn't.
So they dislike comments which aren't what they wanna hear. SMH!
The truth isn't always what you want btw. -

Mar 19, 2017This album in my opinion is his best yet. The songs individually are very strong on here which in no wonder why all of them hit the top 20 here in the UK. Highlights of this album are Eraser,Castle on the hill,Dive,Shape of you and Galway girl. Happier however does sound like a Sam Smith reject.

Jan 12, 2018the most generic album to come out of 2017. the most overrated male artist besides justin beiber
-
Jun 16, 2018I can't see why people like Ed Sheeran. His songs are becoming way too boring and annoying at the same time. This album is horrible.
-
Jan 13, 2018The best and most successful album of 2017! The album is full of amazing songs and I really love Galway Girl, Nancy Molligan and Dive.
-
Feb 2, 2018Divide is the weakest Ed Sheeran album ever, it lacks creativity and originality, the vocals are okay but it didn't deserve the Grammy's it got this year.
-
Feb 2, 2018extremely awesome and critically-underrated album. deserves more. all the songs are great and the lyrics are very relatable and good. awesome! ed u did it again! gd job!
-
May 13, 2018A painfully generic and long album which features way too many songs that are just trying too hard to be a hit. The songs are all a different style and sound done poorly in a bad attempt to see what will stick.
-
Aug 30, 2020A very nice album to start with if you want to get into Ed. Lovable nice guy, and some certain pop fans are mad this won more awards then female artists. Criticism≠having taste. Give it a nice try. One of the best albums of 2017.
-
Apr 13, 2017unfortunately this isnt a good album of Ed, I hope that the next album would be better than Divide and make a much better job, who make all world like.

-
Jun 13, 2017horrible ****. hate this album.........................................................................................................................................................................
-
Mar 3, 2017Good album, with different vibes and tunes. The Irish, Hispanic and African vibes mixed with rap, folk, pop-rock, dancehalll/tropical house and pop are amazing. Well done, Ed.
-
Mar 29, 2017Piece of garbage. As simple as that. It is so unbelievably bland and lacking in sincerity or really any sense of vitality. Sheeran's ego is more substantial than the music he makes.
-
Mar 4, 2017Ed Sheeran did an album for the fans, not the critics, and seeing in the point the view of a fan, the album is very successful. Divide will be at the top of the charts in the next 2 years and Ed may change his direction at the next
record, but this one is really good. -
Mar 19, 2017I like all songs in this album. Ed's voice is perfect and lyrics is good too. I understand that someone won't like it. I like all of his albums. Maybe it is generic, but I still like it because these lyrics are about life and that's important for me. He created them with love.
-
Mar 4, 2017Divide is such an inspiring album. Perfect is a really potential ballad and songs like Shape of you make the album catchy. There were a couple of boring tracks that's why I gave the album a 9 but generally it was great.
-
Mar 15, 2017Why does this have such negative reviews!?!? I mean yes, Divide is a monotonous album, but still it's Ed's style, what were you expecting? I still like his lyrics and voice.
-
Jun 16, 2017How can people call this good or even mediocre. I don't like to swear but what the actual f**k is this? Dreadful vocals and horrible production. That's karma for you Ed you arrogant ****
Best Song(s):
N/A
Worst Song(s):
Galway Girl
Nancy Mulligan
Shape of You
Dive
Eraser
Castle on the Hill
Supermarket Flowers -
Jun 23, 2017From a fresh listener's standpoint, this album sounds more refined than his previous few albums. Loved "Castle on the Hill" and "Perfect" a lot. I am also glad that there are some karaoke-esque songs in there, which aren't overly rappy
Yet, he needs to diversify and go beyond his comfort zone, maybe change his style a little. I guess.
Awards & Rankings
-
Mar 16, 2017At best, we have a middling collection of songs that are going to sound great in a packed arena. At worst, it’s a pretty significant step back from X, and once the initial novelty of its release wears off, it’s unlikely to enjoy the popular acclaim or the longevity of its predecessor.
-
Q MagazineMar 14, 2017Listening to this third LP, you wonder if some of the good ones slipped through the cracks. [May 2017, p.102]
-
Mar 10, 2017As calculating as Sheeran can seem here, he understands there’s a fine line between universal and generic, which is why he gives his songs the idiosyncratic touches they need to stand out.
