Classic Rock MagazineDec 6, 2022If you've been yearning for the days when David Draiman shrieked like a nu-metal chimpanzee-cum-wolverine, then Divisive is the album for you. [Dec 2022, p.75]

Dec 6, 2022For better or worse, there’s nothing new or surprising about Disturbed’s eighth release. On Divisive, the band don’t step outside their comfort zone, they don’t add any new elements, they don’t push the envelope on their established formula, they’re just Disturbed – but they’re Disturbed from their classic era, which is better than nothing.
-
Dec 6, 2022The set sees the band channeling their anger about world events into a blistering mix of metal and alternative hard rock.
-
Dec 6, 2022The bad news for Disturbed fans, and unsurprising news for their detractors, is that Divisive is an average record. Hearing the first three tracks – opening single Hey You, the leaden Bad Man, and the forgettable title-track – one hopes they’re mere aberrations and that the quality high-octane arena fodder will arrive imminently. Alas, it never does.
