    Drillmatic is plagued by the tracklist bloat typical of the streaming era. Neither fun nor profound, the album is almost impressive in the sense of collecting so much talent to create something so mediocre.

    Unlike his arch rival, 50 Cent, the Game has always been an impressive rapper but a substandard songwriter. The trend continues on Drillmatic, with equally frictionless results.

    Game tends to overreach with his mix of the referential and the personal. When there's less obvious effort, the results are favorable, as on the Kanye West collaboration "Eazy," containing some of Game's best lyrics, illustrating the contrast between his upbringing and his ascendancy.

    Album was OK at best. Like the Documentary 2 & 2.5 he hyped it up as if it was his "greatest record yet" but at least with those albums heAlbum was OK at best. The only part I enjoyed was the song with Kanye, but otherwise, it was just song after song after song. Would not recommend.… Expand
