    Obviously he's packed all of his really good songs into 'House of Balloons'. Neither 'Thursday' or his 3rd mixtape right here can follow up his absolutely awesome debut. I can't say that I didn't enjoy EoS because of Abel's fantastic voice and the nice lyrics of the songs, but he's pretty much retelling the stories of 'House of Balloons' (as Thursday already did it). 3 9-song-mixtapesObviously he's packed all of his really good songs into 'House of Balloons'. Neither 'Thursday' or his 3rd mixtape right here can follow up his absolutely awesome debut. I can't say that I didn't enjoy EoS because of Abel's fantastic voice and the nice lyrics of the songs, but he's pretty much retelling the stories of 'House of Balloons' (as Thursday already did it). 3 9-song-mixtapes within 9 months had a bad impact on the quality of the product. EoS's greatest moments come with the opener, a cover of legendary Dirty Diana, Same Old Song, and the title-giving closure that tells the story of the sad life of a stripper (also not the first time we've heard that from him, however). All in all, it's a good time to listen to - mainly because of his style and not because of the creativity in relation to 'House of Balloons'.… Expand

    Echoes of Silence shows that Abel Tesfaye continues to evolve, and it offers a glimpse of potentially exciting future.

    Despite a couple of missteps and the odd moment of doubt, I can't remember the last time a series of three full-length records released this close together has captured me--and others--in the way that this has.
