This Ella Mai album is a music to have intercourse to. Nevertheless, it's just a bland 'traditional R&B' album with 'improved' production quality that fails to fit into this era. A number of spoken word cuts that attached in several tracks didn't work well; for a suggestion, Ella should've take a good look at SZA's 'CTRL' and Solange's 'A Seat at the Table' for her reference.

No está bien. Es como escuchar la canción 'Boo'd Up' una y otra vez porque todos ellos tienen similitudes.

Could've done a lot more with this debut. So much room to grow though. Hoping for a better release in about a year or two.

The subtle wave of acoustics, sparse pianism and occasional bass bump work as an apt complement to Ella’s oration. The production also displays the underappreciated diversity of Mustard’s bottomless bag of beats.

Her album might be suffering from a case of bloat, but it doesn't detract from the talent she clearly has.

While she might play it safe as far as messages are concerned--generally exploring relationships--her metaphoric representation of them somehow manage to keep the oft-played theme quite fresh.
