This is a great album. 10 is generous, yes, but I feel like this album deserves this since its such a great return to animal collective's roots. There are some pure bangers on here, and some slower ballads both of which are great. A big highlight are the lyrics and the emotion Dave shows when he sings.

You can't influence the user score of records just because it's "competition" to whatever it is that you're listening to. Giving this record a 0 and then elaborating that it's ONLY a 0 to skew the numbers in favor of your musical taste is disingenuous and indicative of your insecurity in your musical taste. Why don't you take that garbage elsewhere?

Your enjoyment of this record almost completely depends on if it sounds good to you in writing. If a slowly moving, patient, and weird Avey Tare record sounds appealing, it almost assuredly will be; for the masses, however, some sections may register as too playfully weird.

Benefiting from Deradoorian’s ghostly vocals and Eyvand King’s orchestrations, Eucalyptus offers rich blooms wherever it roams.

It's hard to imagine the album's latent pacing and fragmented lyrical content piquing the interest of many outside of AnCo's hardcore fanbase, but it stands as a compelling step forward. [No. 145, p.61]
