  1. A coming-out party for one of the most important artists of our time.
  2. Who is Jill Scott? This is--in all her eloquent, inspirational, beautiful and melodic glory.
  3. 90
Her sharpest offering yet, and one of the better live albums in recent memory.
  4. Look beyond the spasm-inducing bass solos to Scott herself: a frequently magnetic performer, with a certain brave, defiant spirit that her peers lack.
  5. The warmth of her debut is still there but now overlaid with something fearsome, forceful and almost overbearing at times.
  6. Spin
    60
If the studio stuff lacks punch, her live material pulls fresh meaning from her music's subtlety. [Feb 2002, p.110]
  7. Uncut
    40
This merely draws attention to the fact that the old songs are better than the new ones. [Jan 2002, p.146]
