A hypnotically stunning debut. No only is the production here incredible, but the lyrics are the star behind this dreamy THC haze. Not only does Syd have the ability to spit some fierce rhymes, but she is profoundly honest sexually and confidently. If she has something to say, she's going to say it . . . with a slick punch.

Syd has perfected a pose, a slouching shrug and studied distance that makes her appealing, if a little remote. On Fin, it’s better defined than it ever has been.

The stylistic switch-ups are clever and effective without coming across as forcefully out of character.

Syd hasn’t quite molded herself as a pop luminary, but the self-determined themes on Fin do portray an independent woman who’s fueled by the power of love.

Like the rest of this album, effortless sophistication gradually oozes out of this finale. As hinted at by the record sleeve’s oceanic shadows, Fin has depths that only become more apparent the longer you spend engulfed in them.
