Besides for Cherry Bomb, one of his worst projects to date. Mostly insincere and boring despite its colorful appearance.

One of his most mediocre and least sincere albums, but still decent and listenable. It mainly appeals to hipster losers from the ages of 17 to 25 who didn't listen to anything else of his.

This is the album he was born to make! A powerful document of not only his skill and ear for production but of him embracing his true self. Coming out as LGBTQIA+ in the rap industry was once unthinkable but tyler navigated it like just another thing that makes him more original. Flower boy sounds like a classi and is sequenced like one. This is really his best to date

9/10 - Tyler has created the album for the culture with Flower Boy. Doing what he does best with passionate lyrics, easy-to-digest sounds, and interesting beats, Flower Boy is nothing short of a banger. My personal favorites are easily taken by Garden Shed with Estelle, 911 with Frank Ocean and Steve Lacy, Who Dat Boy with A$AP Rocky, and the ever-popular See You Again with Kali Uchis. Tyler brings on heavy-hitting features all for each track to pack a punch (except for perhaps Droppin’ Seeds, the interlude with Lil Wayne that was a bit of a miss for me). While some can support the argument that Flower Boy is comprised of tracks that all sound the same, I think that is something to embrace in this case. Flower Boy captures one precise feeling with 14 different tracks; the feeling of personal growth and bloom, like that of a flower. Expand

This album really shows Tyler's growth since Goblin. A mature, enjoyable, and at some points beautiful album. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This album is extremely good. Like really, I’m so impressed. Tyler really isn’t one of the best artists, Cherry Bomb made no sense whatsoever (mixing was terrible oml), Wolf was pretty good but kind of boring in certain sections, Goblin felt like a little kid whining and Bastard was edgy but it was impressive lyrically and instrumentally, I liked it. This on the other hand- holy **** this is no doubt one of the best rap albums ever. I can put this **** up with Tpab, Mbdtf and Illmatic, it’s that good. Instrumentals are gorgeously put together, lyricism is on the nose yet amazingly written, this album borders on perfection with songs like Garden Shed, which oozes beauty and feels like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon. I’d rate this album a 10/10, but there is one specific track that was good, but not the best- and that’s pothole, Jaiden sounded kind of uninspired, but that’s legitimately it, this album is pretty much the closest you can get to perfection. Igors pretty good also but eh this is better lul Expand

Tyler's production is untouchable and his rapping is just as great, if not better, than on 'Wolf'. I find the only thing letting Tyler down on this record is a few of his features. 'Jaden Smith' is fairly average on 'Pothole' and 'Lil Wayne' is awful on 'Droppin Seeds'. Aside from this, 'Flower Boy' is a future classic.

An excellent 4th album by Tyler, "Scum **** Flower Boy" is easily his most lyrical, and mature album he has put out. In my opinion it was his worst album to date (not bad, but easily his weakest effort) and forward to 2017 and we have "Scum **** Flower Boy." this album is a very interesting listen with the entire album being produced by Tyler himself. My Fav 3 Tracks are: "See You Again," "Boredom," & "Where This Flower Blooms." Please support Tyler by buying/streaming the album. You will not be disappointed. Expand

Tyler takes away a bit of the "edgy teenager" vibe from most of his previous albums and goes for a more genuine album. He has talked about his feelings in most of his previous songs, but none are on the level of Flower boy. He genuinely talks about his feelings in whats probably his best-produced album (such as his suggested homosexuality).

This album will go down as one of the best hip hop albums this year, and certainly Tyler's best work to date. I was completely blown away with the creative direction and the production. The only downfall I would give this album is the short list of topics, but even Tyler himself addresses this in a couple songs.

Tyler has put together a concept album that is as gripping as it is explorative. This is hands down the best produced album of the year, and at least in the top 5 Hip Hop albums this year overall.

    Top tracks (for me):
    Garden Shed
    911/ Mr. Lonely
    Who Dat Boy
    Potholes
    November

    There are no bad tracks.

Tyler has always shown the potential for an album like this in the past but never executed it properly. With Flower Boy I get the easy cool jazz vibes got on his early work like Treehome95 and Find your wings. I honestly believe this is Tyler's best work and is one of the best albums of the year as his production, lyrics and overall aesthetic for this album is amazing. Probably one of his best albums since Wolf. Tyler has really matured from where he started at with Bastard. This is pretty much contender for album of the year.

I went into this album expecting an expansion on what Tyler did on Cherry Bomb:Fleshing out the concepts and working on the criticisms it got. That used to be my favorite Tyler, The Creator project but I have to say, I was blown away by this album. I feel like Tyler has finally found himself both emotionally and artistically after 8 years since he released his breakout Bastard mixtape. I feel like Tyler has finally found himself both emotionally and artistically after 8 years since he released his breakout Bastard mixtape. The production is some of the best I've heard this decade and the lyrics are Tyler's most coherent yet. It's also worth noting that there's a lot less of the pitched vocals than on Cherry Bomb, showing Tyler has progressed a large amount as a vocalist. The features on this album are amazing: From Frank Ocean to Lil Wayne. Hell, even Jaden Smith has a solid feature on Pothole. Overall, this album will go down as a modern day classic. For me, this is the album of the year so far (that says a lot seeing how many solid albums have released this year so far)

Tyler's created an album which just perfectly speaks to my mental state this summer. I'm isolated from my friends, girlfriend, and I'm really lonely and bored. I'm also thinking about changing a lot of things in my life, and wondering if I should make the jump. Tyler encapsulated all the anxiety, loneliness, and introspection of this summer and these last few years.

This album shows a great progression on Tyler's persona and work. Very few rap album's are engaging from start to finish while at the same time exporting a message.

After releasing what in my opinion his weakest album with Cherry Bomb, Tyler comes through with his most consistent, soulful, and beautiful work. Flower Boy delivers a concise and obvious message, it's a clearly a pathway to Tyler's soul.

Tyler's most concise albums that ties together everything necessary for a phenomenal album. As of his prior work in Goblin, Wolf and Cherry Bomb, Tyler was never one to focus on himself and achieve some a personal reflection of himself (which was attempted unsuccessfully in Wolf). Flowerboy is by far his most focused work and displays what makes Tyler.. Tyler.

Tyler has developed many of the techniques he has used on every project from his past and it shows. Tyler obviously has been practicing every element of current musical library instead of trying new techniques, which is very pleasing for both his fans and his critics. Flower Boy is much more developed and grand than anything Tyler has done before.

As a first time listener of Tyler, this album is terrific. Tyler is able to create a smooth and consistent album. The flow of each song is great and shows how much Tyler has matured compare to his older albums where he was very experimental. If you've new to Tyler like me, this is an excellent album to start with.

These days, there aren’t many rap albums that can service as a deeply digested work of art as well as music for easy listening, yet Tyler, The Creator fills both lanes well. He manages to find the happy medium on Flower Boy and translates it to his best album yet.
