He’s remarkably consistent as a songwriter; the weakest point over 10 songs is “Soon Az I Get Home (Interlude),” mostly because of its brevity. On “Let Me Know” he shows off his sweet (and under-used) falsetto, adding a coating of earnest gloom.

There's lots to enjoy here for old and new fans alike.

At only 26 minutes “Fuck the World” is (more than) a little on the short side, but it’s still long enough to make a powerful impact with a croon as opposed to a boom from the cannon. The only other complaint I could issue is that at times Brent Faiyaz is self-indulgent to the point of straight up misogynistic attitude lyrically.

Not quite as malevolent as the title indicates, it's a little more openhearted than Faiyaz's earlier output, but it does contain flashes of the cynical outlook and more of the remorseless (if sensitively delivered) slow jams for which he's known.

Packed with lovely, unusual and attention-grabbing intros. ... Less heartening are his lyrics. ... Much of the record consists of its maker bragging about his sexual conquests with a dead-eyed disdain. [May 2020, p.106]

Excelente álbum, até então o melhor da carreira de Brent (em minha opinião).

Just like The Weeknd’s House of Balloons I sense a darker tone in the braggadocious lyrics, but more in a macro sense. He seems pretty happy (unlike HOB that is), though in his success/search for success he fights with himself about what’s most important. “Been Away” and “Clouded” are the perfect representations of his mindset in the making of this album. “I have it all for a fantasy” (from Clouded) and “I’ve been away/a way, I’m just tryna get my paper straight” (from Been Away) captures this aforementioned fight with himself. His love for himself and the love for someone else is tearing his priorities. Anyway after this rant, it’s basically just a perfect listen, production wise it’s amazing and his vocal delivery is of course perfect. It could be a song or two longer but to be honest it gives it a “pocket” feel which I personally like Expand
