Ultimately, with Future Hearts, All Time Low have delivered an almost perfect blend of stadium-ready fist pumpers, ballads, and fuel-injected pop hits.
They’re never going to reinvent the wheel, and there are a few moments (halfway mark ‘Missing You’ springs to mind) that feel a little too much. But there is something intensely satisfying in their sugary hooks and their handle on catchy, unadulterated melodies.
Fourteen tracks is way too long for ATL's brand of music and while you get a few pop anthems, most of the music comes off forced and really lacking effort.

All I can say that this album is a collection of heartfelt, sometimes reminiscent, most of the time enjoyable songs. I'm a fan of pop first, a fan of rock second. Their sound is a cohesive amalgam of the two. This is very easy to listen to and the feeling it gives off takes me to good places. Each and every song on this record displays a different mood and emotion, but in a cohesive and un-messy way. And while this record does have new sounds and styles, it still doesn't stray away from their pop-punk roots. In fact, they are embracing them on this record and making them sound good with other sounds.
This album definitely stands out from their other records, in terms of how summery and uplifting a lot of these tracks are. The tracks I find myself going back to a lot are Cinderblock Garden, Dancing With a Wolf, The Edge of Tonight, and Don't You Go. These four songs in particular prove very well that All Time Low can in fact experiment with different sounds and moods, and make them all sound amazing. I absolutely love this album, it's a 4/5 for me.

Future Hearts won't likely win much radio time, but the album is absolutely the band's best and deserves a spin from anyone that still gravitates toward this style of music. I wouldn't hate it if ATL were to put a little more teeth into their work, but the charming and slick-production approach that Future Hearts is based on works just as well.…Expand

However, every other track I can find some enjoyment in. Some of the less interesting ones to me would be opener Satellite, Cinderblock Garden, Don't Let Go and Bail Me Out. Still, definitely worth a listen…Expand

The structuring, catchy tunes and sound did get better but unfortunately since they did use a more "pop" way of making the album, it was rather boring for someone like me who enjoyed older albums like "So Wrong It's Right". Some songs showed that they could still be fun to head bang to but it seemed like it was mellowed down. Generally, I think the album could have been better but didn't live up to some fans like me. It just lacked the power and energy that could have made the entire thing a lot better but despite all of that, it's still a decent album to get if you like calmer and more soothing type of pop rock.…Collapse
