Full of safe risks, Gigi’s Recovery is very much a transitional album as The Murder Capital look to evolve without alienating their fanbase. Doors are left wide open for subsequent reinventions but for now, the five-piece are comfortable sticking close-by what they know.

The album is a great progression from the band’s 2019 release “When I Have Fears” and takes listeners on an - oftentimes cathartic- emotional rollercoaster. What sets it apart from the previous album is the optimism, the acceptance of one’s fate and the longing for love. This comes through in many of the tracks. My absolutely favorite tune is the title track itself, which not only has a beautiful progression but closes the album with a sense of hope for a brighter future - and, obviously, more great work from these talented lads. 10/10 Full Review »
