Gore exceeds in places where even Koi No Yokan couldn't; Every track booms with solid cohesion and beautiful textures that haven't been matched on any Deftones album to-date. Prayers/Triangles starts the record off on a great melancholy note that is quickly subdued by the hardness in Acid Hologram. The main chorus within Prayers is memorable and exquisitely catchy, to say the least. The main chorus within Prayers is memorable and exquisitely catchy, to say the least. Acid Hologram may be a bit more generic, but those feelings are quickly replaced by the anger in Doomed User, which even in being a generally heavy track already manages to go from beautiful highs-to-lows flawlessly. (L)MIRL is quite a stand-out track; It's atmospheric guitar riffs and mesmerizing drum track really compliment the tone of the song. But most importantly, the Phantom Bride/Rubicon track is by-far the most beautiful composition Deftones have ever formulated. It truly personifies the personality of Gore and drives home the overall tone in a memorable package that even puts White Pony to shame.

Gore is a golden record, one that truly staples the Deftones sound into new heights. This is a must-listen for any Deftones fan, or anyone interested in music to begin with.

This album is excellent! From the aggressive signature Deftones sound to the melodic spacey bits. Any fan old or new has a lot of great tracks to take in here. Phantom Bride snagged my attention the hardest as I feel there's a lot of emotion in that track. One Love for Chi Cheng! I'm sure he's smiling down on this album proud as can be.

My favourite Deftones album as a whole. It might not have the best individual tracks but i think that's a plus. I might go as far as to say that all of the tracks are exceptional, except maybe Pittura Infamante and Xenon, the latter being the better one of the two.

This is a top to bottom excellent album. For better of for worse though, there is no really standout track. Its also an album that is best listened to with a nice pair of headphones in a quiet place. Anyone looking for hard metal won't find it in this album, but I appreciate the evolution of the Deftones sound over time. Deftones just keep evolving. Carpenter lays down some sick ass riffs while being backed up by Moreno's ace vocals. This album gives my ears seductive pleasure.

This album goes above and beyond anything that they have ever put out. Absolutely my favorite Deftones album thus far. It even beats "Saturday Night Wrist" and "Koi No Yokan." Literally the only reason I'm not giving this a perfect 10 is because I am hoping against hope that they can magic up another album even more fantastic than this one. Deftones 4 Prez 2016!

I will admit that this album takes a while to get into. I don't think I liked any of there albums first listen except Adrenalize. I do know that after a few listens what stands this one apart is no two albums and now there is eight sound the same. This to me sounds like a mixture of Koi no Yokan and Diamond Eyes. There is a positive sound from the guitar work of Mr. Stephen Carpenter and even when the lyrics are "dark" the songs still have a uplifting feel to them. I think there isn't a single track that is filler but like I said give it multiple listens to truly get the feel of this album. Expand

The most depressive Deftones' album (lyrically and musically). And the less best (not worst, because all Deftones' albuns are great). Deftones managed to make the violence and rage in 'Gore' something sensible and beautiful.

Best Tracks: Prayers/Triangles; Acid Hologram; Doomed User; Rubicon.

It's a great album, sonically akin to 'Saturday Night Wrist' with a shoegaze tinge in its atmosphere, but quality-wise it's a minor step down for the band. Still, a relatively subpar Deftones album is well above average by any other medium. The last three tracks are superb.

Deftones nunca decepciona, que album tan glorioso, es poderoso de principio a fin y me encanta el hecho de que todo el disco tiene una sincronia que me pone la piel de gallina. Enhorabuena!

Another great record from Deftones. Lush atmospheres, vocals that croon and soar and buzzing guitar work makes for a record that has a signature Deftones sound most fans will love, but throws more than the occasional curve ball as far as predictability goes. Some of Chino's best vocal performances are featured and take center stage due to a more creative approach to the signature chugging that is provided by Stephen. This record turns it down a little in some ways, but manges to redefine heavy with a mixture of the band as a whole. Its a beautifully dark album and is a must have by any Deftones fan. Some stand out tracks include Acid Hologram, Doomed User, Geometric Headdress, Hearts/Wires, Phantom Bride - which features an awesome guest solo by Jerry Cantrell, the title cut, Gore and the near perfect closer Rubicon. Gore is the arguably the most notable Deftones album since White Pony. Every Deftones album is different sonically, but this album dramatically shifts the sound of the band to something that may catch the ears of both younger and older armchair music fans.

I don't know why Stephen didn't want to record this album - it's still amazing though. Very decent eargasm album by Deftones from first track to last.

A painful release. A great band with great albums, but this definitely isn't their best. Gore comes across as an awkward hiccup in a sea of marvelous achievements for Deftones. The production seems to be lacking the most as each song has great elements that just don't tie together cohesively.

This is a great record from a group that has been in the game a long time. Gore has incredible cohesion with it's melodies and hard riffs. Chino and Steph have done us another solid.

Running at you full-steam ahead, seeing red and gutting you. This album is testament to the trials and tribulations they've endured and more so, how they've risen up.

There’s the odd filler track, such as Phantom Bride--an experimental shriekathon, which even guitar parts from special guest Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains can’t save--but those aside, Gore is an album with the depth and emotional range that Deftones fans have come to expect.

Gore is a listen as complex and engrossing as we’ve come to expect from Deftones, and they continue to be a band that matures organically, becoming more and more fluid in their own craft.
