Got some heavy PJ Harvey vibes, a dash of Julee Cruise, mixed with the sonic vibe of Blonde Readhead. Dark and brooding. Reminds me of the music I listened to when I was in my Goth phase in high school. However, unlike that music, I am down for more listens.

Sounds like Portishead, My Bloody Valentine and PJ Harvey, tense and sonically interesting.

So many shoegaze references on its sleeve (with Cranes vocals on top) that it would be easy to label it derivative BUT that would totally miss the point. You can pay homage to what came before while still breathing life into a genre that, sadly, has fallen off many radars. A fave of 2022 so far!

It is great in all the ways other reviews say. For me, the uniformity of the style, especially the vocals, begin to drag by the end of the tracklist. For others, this cohesion will be a plus if the style is more your thing.

I probably won't listen to this regularly, but I recommend everyone gives it a listen because it succeeds at what it's going for.

Just Mustard's 2nd LP is a strong contender for Irish album of the year and deserves recognition further afield as well. I was lucky enough to see them play this album live on their recent tour a few weeks ago and my ears are still ringing. A dark mix of shoegaze and industrial rock they remind me of a cross of their Irish contempories Gilla Band and The Altered Hours. Pushing the listener to the very edge but never over it. A stunner. Expand

If Portishead ,my bloody valentine and pj harvey got together this is how they would sound. This album is an atmospheric romp that prefers to lay in the reverb and dissonance rather than be a vocal or lyrically oriented. Avrealy good shoegaze record.

Shoegaze de altíssima qualidade. Instrumental impecável, vocais simplesmente divinos e uma ambientação densa e soturna que traz exatamente o que a banda anunciou antes do lançamento "a experiência de dirigir por um túnel com as janelas abaixadas".

This is the sound of shoegaze being brought into the modern world, taking the best parts of bands like My Bloody Valentine and with the assistance of modern production ques and a highly effective vocalist, they present it in a thoroughly engaging and even unnerving experience

It's easy to get sucked into darkness and despair, Heart Under proves that so, but thankfully, Ball's voice oversees that listeners only merely toe into these bottomless, murky waters.

Rather than holding up a torch, Heart Under adjusts your eyes to the pitch black.

The wicked atmosphere that they’ve crafted across Heart Under is worthy of celebration alone.
