Stormzy strikes us with powerful and inspired flow and content. He is not afraid to explore new styles, approaches and patterns. The featurings on 'Heavy Is the Head' are great, especially from H.E.R., Headie One and Yebba. The female voices that accompany Stormzy's are very pleasant to listen to. It surely benefits from an interesting atmosphere but is totally ruined by Ed Sheeran's mainstream pop style and chanting. Fortunately other tracks see Stormzy deploy his interesting reflections and inflections even if some songs quickly become repetitive and a certain weariness is felt as you listen to the album. Expand

A very strong release! It was unexpected to hear Stormzy in a universal design. The powerful punchlines as well as the important topics raised on the album are impressive.

"h.i.t.h" is a banger from front to end. The only criticism I have is the big tracklist, the last few cuts starts to feel a little redundant and it looks like more of a compilation album instead of a proper cohesive album.

With its unique flow, Stormzy proves that it can use its rhymes for business or public. Crown shows off its versatility between singing and rap, a better track from the album. Constantly marvel at different instruments, not barking at the mind and with a tremendously beautiful cape.

Up there for rap album of the year. Those upset with it probably listened to the Ed Sheerhan single and bailed thinking it was going to be sing-songy stuff. No. This is brazen, unapologetic, and amazing.

This a great sophomore album for the UK artist. It’s time people stop sleeping on UK rappers now. Dave, Krept & Konan, & now Stormzy have had great albums put out this year. It’s interesting to see where they’ll go next

A solid album but also not a surprising one. To boot, the main thing that grounds this album with a sense of time and place is the political side of it.

On Heavy Is the Head, that throne is never taken lightly. Instead, Stormzy delivers one of the most introspective and prayerful works of the year, solidifying his elite status in hip-hop.
