It has one of the worst album starts this year, of all the albums I've reviewed during 2019, most of them fall or get stuck in the middle and get some out in the final part of the album, but here is the opposite, It starts very boring, flat, at times gray and without personality, but when "Circles" arrives, it is as if a sunbeam came out and illuminated the album, after that, the album begins to regain strength with some failures with specifically a collaboration, which is Lil Baby, destroys “On the Road” at the moment it leaves. If this were a cassette or a Vinyl, I would say that Side B is the best. "Take What You Want" is great when you hear the voice of Ozzy, I am almost crying, because I am very gay. One of the collaborations in which I had high expectations was with SZA, they manage to get away very well, it's not bad, I loved that the album closed with “Wow.” I think it encompasses everything that Post Malone has lived since its first success "Congratulations". It's a fairly regular album, it has good sound quality, the only thing I didn't like very much, but I celebrate is that Post Malone decided to experiment more in pop rock, "Allergic" seemed to me at times quite inaudible, very annoying and too distorted That guitar, I think it should be kept in the style of songs like "Stay", "Circles" and most of the songs of beerbongs & bentleys, that is its sound. I could change my score for this album over time as I did with your previous album. Expand

Post Malone's best album so far. My biggest complaint about Posty used to be that many of his songs sounded the same. Well, not anymore. One listen to 'Allergic' and you already hear the diversity this album brings. Post Malone keeps experimenting, and the result pays off. I find it hard to describe this album, but the bottom line is that I'm really enjoying it.

The production on this album is also his best, by a mile. This album just has so much emotion, and has something for every fan of every genre on it. The visuals and aesthetic for this album are also really amazing, taking art inspiration from artists like Bones.

My favourite on the album would HAVE TO BE Take What You Want with Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott. I was a bit iffy about how this song would go, with a mixture of rock, rap, and pop together, but they handled it perfectly in my opinion, and the guitar solo at the end was magical. I enjoyed all of the feature choices except for DaBaby since he didn't really go on a goofy slow beat in my opinion but they were all well done in my opinion. My personal favourite song is 'Myself'

This is by far Post Malone's best work yet. Posty is much more lyrical in this album and isn't afraid to experiment with multiple genres. The album also had an end of Summer vibe to it which is very fitting considering Fall is right around the corner. This album exceeded my already high expectations.

I find the ability to collaborate all these RAP/HIpHop artists on a strong POP album fascinating yet there is only two songs that stand out from the others. One of which we have been able to hear for several months now. I'm not sure what the direction of this pop, impersonation rock, and urban "project" is going. Stick to making the radio bops Posty, leave the deeper meaningful music to other genres, not this old hybrid cluster mess they keep trying to make work. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hollywood's Bleeding is the canvas upon which a story of escapism is told. With the first half of the record showing Post lamenting about manipulative women and not enjoying the high life of Hollywood in general. The 2nd half sees an awakening within Malone as he simply leaves and enjoys more positive experiences and self-love now that he's away from the festering ego-boosted idols of Hollywood Hills. The strengths of the album include the opener with its 3-part declaration of sickness in California, the paranoia in Enemies, and the experimentation seen in the songs Allergic, Circles, Take What You Want, and Staring At The Sun. Unfortunately, there are some elements that hinder Post's overall message. The track lengths mostly staying under 3 minutes doesn't allow songs such as Internet (missing the Kanye West feature), Saint-Tropez, and I Know to breathe and fully express themselves before they're abruptly cut off barely over the 2-minute mark for the sake of streaming. It should be noted that Sunflower actually fits on this record at the point where post is basking in newfound happiness, but Wow. serves as an ill-fitted closer and plays out more like the credits to where this story truly ends with I Know. This song plays out like an awkward reconnection with an ex who keeps explaining their wrongdoings, only for the listener to say "yes, I know, that's why I don't want you anymore". It's a bold statement of self-affirmation and self confidence that doesn't play out egotistic or braggadocios in any way and leaves the listener with the tone of healing despite the bleeding that the album started with. Hollywood’s bleeding Circles Myself Take what you want Songs to forget On the road Allergic Goodbyes You can almost tell what you will get with a Post Malone album these days, great instrumentals, smooth vocals, interesting features and catchy songs. This album delivers this for sure and also explores other integrated Styles such an beer bongs and stoney, Post has a real talent for mixing sounds from different genres and once again this is a strong aspect of this album. I also feel like Posts vocals continue to improve notably on “Hollywood’s Bleeding” and “Circles”. There is one thing that I can’t get over with Posts music though, it’s the lack of depth, especially in this album, Stoney was a real look at an honest portrayal of his life and relationships and at points gave me shivers, I feel like this album is a little lack lustre on the emotional depth front, I’m not saying that all albums should be emotional journeys and detail life’s tough moments but I really feel like I want to see more of the real post and make my own assumptions up using clever lyrics to portray his feelings and make up my own mind on how he is feeling. Overall this is a good album, which will no doubt be a commercial success but I am little disappointed with the repetition and lack lustre lyrics. Instrumentals: 8/10

"Staring at the sun" ft SZA is the best song of the album. Moreover, Circles, I know, Saint-Tropez, Myself, Enemies, I'm gonna be, Die for me and Hollywood's Bleeding are great too. Nice album. I recommend it

Undoubtedly his best work to date (though that admittedly wasn't very high of a bar to clear) as well as a major step forward for Post, his insistence on falling back onto the same old "mopey-boy crooner" schtick every other song nevertheless undermines much of the considerable growth and newfound promise on display here, and it robs the album of any feeling of urgency or necessity.Undoubtedly his best work to date (though that admittedly wasn't very high of a bar to clear) as well as a major step forward for Post, his insistence on falling back onto the same old "mopey-boy crooner" schtick every other song nevertheless undermines much of the considerable growth and newfound promise on display here, and it robs the album of any feeling of urgency or necessity.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Something about this new Post Malone that just feels like The Weeknd. Except, with a little less seasoning, more gentrification and a bit watery. Not just Post's lyrics, the beats too. It just sounds like if you took the spoiled kids of Beverly Hills and gave them "Trap". i'm not knocking it at all. I assume that was the whole point. Which is why I have to say it's actually pretty damn good. On a scale of convenience stores, recent releases from DaBaby, and Young Thug are like your cities super famous delis while Post Malone is more like a 711. In that same context, I rate it a solid 10 stars. However, music is not limited to that context so let's take a further look.

Opening up with a song titled after the album, Hollywood's Bleeding, we get some washed out blues guitar and howling similar to Kanye's Wolves. "Hollywood's Bleeding, Vampires feeding, darkness turns to dusk...". The opening lines and vibe all together feels again (I hate to make this comparison) very much like The Weekend. The song is a dark ode to the lost boys chasing highs because they're feeling low. Embracing the beauty of his own misery and accepting the lifestyle will sum this track up. I think the strong suit of this song is the melody. The 808s on the drop just don't hit as hard as they do on any of the genres top contenders at the moment and the next piece of the song goes into Lana Del Rey territory with no motive or originality. Which is kind of consistent throughout the whole album. It's just all so familiar.

Not much really stands out about this record which is totally fine. Music is not always, and can't always be revolutionary, groundbreaking, or innovative. However that doesn't mean this record doesn't have it's tricks up its sleeve. Nearly a third of the way through, we are taken by surprise when pop-punk meets hip-hop and r&b delivered in a way never before. Allergic is a stunning fusion to be referenced for the future by artists hoping to make happy go-lucky pop-punk vibes into a sandwich hip-hop fans can eat. This is a one of one. although the next track A Thousand Bad Times has a similar vibe, Allergic is the one diamond in the coal mine.

All in all Post Malone's songwriting is extremely simple, relying heavily on melody. He's extremely bland lyrically while trying to be relatable and emotional. The whole album is seriously lacking in that department and the melodically speaking; the cliche melody's are exhausted from holding the weight that all other elements of songwriting should be carrying. The album is enjoyable, has a moment, but unless you're 14 and aren't musically experienced then there's nothing to marvel at here. Which is why I compared it to 711. It's amazing, and great for what it is, it's just that what it is, is quick, convenient and not made with much purpose. Just depends on what your standards are and how cultured you are. I enjoyed the album although at 17 songs, it's a bit of a drag and one trick pony. By todays hip-hop standards and for delivering it's intent, I'll call it an 8. Against all music ever, 3.

Expand

Post Malone's most boring album yet and it isn't close. Each song sounds incredibly similar to the next aside from the singles that had already been out months in advance. The only song I thought Post stood out on was "Goodbyes" and aside from that track I believe the features outshined him a lot.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Astronomically better than Stoney, but not as good as b&B. This album comes with very damn good cuts with interesting collaborations but it also has a lot of songs that feel like fillers like "Internet", "I Know", "Saint-Tropez"(one of the worst songs in this album alongside Internet), Sunflower (which felt so out of place), Myself and Wow. That's my only complaint about the record. The rest of the songs, specially Take What You Want, Hollywood's Bleeding, Circles and Allergic are are excellent. Expand

Posty's best work so far. He combined all of the genres and didn't care about the stereotypical stuff at all it seems.. At times you find yourself listening to rap music, then pop, r&b, rock ... In sum, a good piece of art especially in today's music environment. Definitely give it a listen.

This album is a diamond gem, and it's one of the best of 2019. His perfect combination of this dark-pop sound in his voice has become stronger and better. The hopeful beats that makes your tracks taste, has great highlights and Post Malone has surpassed everyone in his vision that includes stories to tell and messages to send.

All the songs feel experimental while retaining Post Malone's distinctive sound and feel. Every single track is pleasant to listen to and Circles hits the highest point of this album as an absolute banger. After the continous evolution through his former two albums, this one makes the listener beg for the next.

More well-executed than his previous releases and undeniably catchy, Hollywood's Bleeding is a huge step forward for the guarded superstar, one that doesn't sacrifice the essential elements that made him such a surprise hitmaker, and pushes him even further into the pop-savvy landscape where he belongs.

Even when he is stretching the boundaries of his sound, as he does in several places on “Hollywood’s Bleeding,” the results feel the opposite of experimental. When you’re an omnivore taking a mortar and pestle to six decades of pop music history and turning it into a smooth slurry, it’s nigh impossible to shock. ... Whatever someone might be hoping to find is in there somewhere. Post Malone is emotional tofu, a skill, not an accident. ... His ambiguity is of an elevated, refined sort.

It will be a surprise to learn which tracks aren’t singles yet; there’s at least five more hits to be spawned from this thing, and we’ll never hear the end of it.
