It genuinely is a fabulous album full of vim and vigour, from the celebratory burp that opens the album on the effervescent lip curling fuzz pop of “Pull the Plug” to the “tears at prom night vibe” (musically at least) on the gorgeous album closer “Take Me Away.”

While Homecoming could hardly be described as a massively commercial record, it’s certainly Du Blonde’s most accessible album to date, and the short running time means that it never outstays its welcome.
  4. Things even get a bit classic rock on the anthemic ‘All The Way’, which features Ride’s Andy Bell, but this self-produced and self-released record is DIY punk through-and-through.

What the streamlined sound of ‘Homecoming’ lacks in broad musical scope, it more than makes up for in attitude.

A slice of life in all its messy, complicated and ultimately doomed glory. [May 2021, p.25]

Witty yes, original yes and at times serious yes, but never dumb,. Du Blonde has the license to entertain from the word go
