For me it's an okay album. It has some dance jams (like "Can We Pretend" - my fav), and the rest is very retrospective, and in some way boring, so sometimes I'm skipping some songs from this album.

P!nk has amazed me unlike the Beautiful Trauma album did. Her new body of work, Hurts 2B Human, is cohesive. She let go of her artistry for the sake of commercial success. Beautiful Trauma sounded like an Ed Sheeran album. It's sad that she gave up her own sound to win people over. She's an icon, she doesn't need to strive for success. She made her mark and this is disappointing to say the least.

P!nk went back (for a moment) to the emotional roots of these records, while connecting with her current state of mind and once again delivered an introspective and emotional release, yet not completely shaken from the style of her previous release "Beautiful Trauma"

While this may sound like P!nk could fall into a creative slump or a monotone musical cycle, "Hurts 2B Human" is the reflection of an artist who is growing artistically along with the challenges that balancing love and motherhood with a musical career have brought into her life.

Alecia never disappoints. She can change the production and her partners, but she always put authentic, deep and passionate music. She is real and every single music she puts out has her unique signature. No need to mention her abilities as a performer and singer. She is still growing and showing new sides of herself, which keeps her work always fresh and interesting.

Another delusional album but at least it has some really good tracks which make me think that the real P!nk is still somewhere between all the dull and boring ballads that have no personality at all. The 2nd album in a row in which she failed to express herself as an artist and she just makes simple pop songs. Just barely sufficient.

The whole album is quite inconsistent because while it has dance songs for very abrupt moments it falls into ballads or romantic songs. This album is quite mediocre for an artist the size of P!nk, the production is quite basic, simple and monotonous, it does not try to innovate or do new things, it just repeats or copies what was popular in other years. I think that on this record she loses that essence of rebellion and flirting with rock. It has 2 good songs and that's saying, "90 Days" and "We Could Have It All". The final part of the album becomes very boring with typical ballads and that makes you want to finish by listening to this album so flat and mediocre. Expand

Hurts 2B Human is P!nk’s eighth album, and though it is certainly an improvement from Beautiful Trauma, it doesn’t reach the heights of previous albums like Funhouse or The Truth About Love. To its credit, a lot of the upbeatness that I was missing in Beautiful Trauma was back in Hurts 2B Human, though in this album, P!nk adopts a few music aspects that are rather generic in today’s music, such as electronic drums in a few tracks and autotune in the case of one or two songs. That being said, even if it is at the expense of a few commonalities, Hurts 2B Human manages to recapture the spirit of past P!nk, which I applaud this album for doing. I had so much more to say about this album but I had to cut the individual song "feelings" because of the 5000 character limit (Metacritic, please change it :( ). Overall, I was somewhat happy with this album, though I could’ve used more excitement (especially since I know P!nk is capable of providing this). That being said, this new style isn’t horrible (with the exception of a few songs in this album of course), but it leaves me with a little to be desired. I am also kind of sad because this is the latest P!nk album, so I probably won’t be reviewing any more of her work any time soon, and she is one of my favorite artists. At least this will give me something to look forward to once she releases new material. Most P!nk fans should like this album, especially if they liked the calmer music that made up Beautiful Trauma, but all P!nk fans will like at least a few songs in Hurts 2B Human. Highlights: Walk Me Home, Can We Pretend, Courage, and We Could Have It All.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hurts 2B Human is a journey through human pains. For this, P!nk walks among several rhythms and plays with words in a way that only someone with the experience that she has can do. So experienced and established in the market to the point of deciding to record an EP in the middle of a tour and end up releasing a complete album.
The album begins more agitated and it goes getting slower and more dense during the passage of the tracks. Among the human pains explored in the tracks, we can find problems with relationships (Hey Why and 90 days) and we can look for the solution of the daily problems in the relationships (Walk Me Home, H2BH, Can We Pretend). But the album goes beyond love relationship. There are tracks on self-esteem, maternity and make a difference.
Another pain that I could perceive very strongly in this album is the P!nk's age crisis. What has already begun in Barbies (Beautiful Trauma) with a nostalgia to the time of the childhood stabilizes strong in the H2BH in Can We Pretend, Circle Game and The Last Song Of Your Life.
As for the technical evaluation of the work, it is an album without bad songs, as you would expect from P!nk. It's full of well written and well produced songs. However, it still has its ups and downs.

    Positive Tracks
    - The vocal collaborations have demonstrated a lyrical interaction and unique harmonization that we've been missing since Just Give Me A Reason! The title track of the album is the typical song without defects. In 90 days, despite the strange robotic voice placed in the background, there is a strong dialogue between the couple that grows on the track until it takes your breath away. Love me anyway has something that bothers me in many songs: repetition of short phrases to exhaustion. But it's possible to forgive * this song * because of the harmonization with Chris Stapleton's speech, putting together a wonderful puzzle.
    - Happy is the reason to listen to P!nk. The strong pop / rock ballad about self-esteem. It's a rectilinear song, it's possible to miss some blast. However, because it is a self-reflection, trying to remove the revolt or anger close to you, no blasts is positive thing. Personally, I love piano and violin ballads. Circle Game hits right there. The very well-marked music and amazing performance of P!nk make you feel in her place even if you are not a parent.

    Negative Tracks
    - In a negative way, I consider that Walk Me Home was not the best lead-single for the album. It's a folk that features a boring word game (good with good, night with tonight) and a boring sound that opens the song and keeps repeating itself. An average song. To be from P!nk, it was not cool (despite the incredible video).
    - I always wanted to hear P!nk in good electronic music. Tried Waterfall and now Can We Pretend. Not yet, and it's not her fault. The lyrics and performance of the track are perfect, but the electronic production of Cash Cash is very generic. This song in the hand of Martin Garrix or Marshmallow would have been a lot better.
    - Courage is the second work of P!nk with Sia and the second that does not work well. The song has potential, but it commits the sin of repetition to exhaustion, making music tiresome. P!nk and Sia has potential but so far has not.
    - Hey Why is very controversial. While it is a song produced to be hit style 2000s, it approaches a theme already beaten and that leaves rhyming Love with Love the whole song. Adds the references half disconnected, ends up being unpleasant.
    - The tenuous limit between a wonderful emotional ballad and boring music was exceeded in The Last Song Of Your Life. The music trails with a production full of echo and duplicate voice that ends up making you fall asleep. The fact that it was put on after two other slow songs might even have not helped.

It is a work that has a lot of P!nk identity and that goes very well between different rhythms with well-addressed themes varying between the brave woman and the fragile woman that P!nk is (and we all try to be). Highly recommend.

P!nk is undeniably an icon. She was one of the biggest artists of the 2000s and gave us amazing pop rock music and she had so much longevity that she still managed to kill it on the charts in the 2010s. However, she kept playing it very safe with each new release in the last decade. Her latest album "Hurts 2B Human" was a disappointment. The album's opening track "Hustle" reminds me a bit P!nk's old material. It's an energetic pop song that features elements of country music. The second track "(Hey Why) Miss You Sometime" is easily the best song on the album in my opinion. It’s an upbeat Pop track that was co-written and produced by pop God Max Martin. I love the autotune usage on this song. "Walk Me Home" is the third song on the album and also served as the album's lead single. It has to be her weakest lead single either. It didn’t leave much of an impression on me the first time I heard it...and it’s still just kinda there. It’s more of a midtempo song that also features elements of country or folk music. Eh I don’t know. "My Attic" is a very cute introspective ballad about storing memories and secrets. The production is nothing new but it’s cute. "90 Days" is probably the most experimental song on the album. It’s a very minimalistic electronica ballad and Wrabel is a perfect duet partner. The vocoder background vocals are great and I also like the lyrics a lot. Definitely a standout song.
The title track "Hurts 2B Human" with Khalid is okay. Their voices sound so good together but the song itself is just nothing special. "Can We Pretend" is a terribly generic EDM song. It just doesn’t sound like something P!nk would record and I hope she will never ever record an EDM track ever again. The subject matter is nice and relatable though. Then there’s the power ballad "Courage". I like the song but it just sounds like a Sia song (and Sia actually ended up releasing her version of the song as well). "Happy" is a beautiful (and relatable ballad), where P!nk talks about her fear of opening up.
After that the album ends with four songs that left absolutely no impression on me at all, mostly ballads. "We Could Have It All" is a pop rock song that also reminded me a tiny bit of the old pink. Nice track. "Love Me Anyway" is a cute little country ballad. P!nk and Chris Stapleton sound good together but the song is just cute. "Circle Game" is a very, very beautiful piano ballad where P!nk talks about her relationship to her daughter, motherhood, mortality and her dad. There's a lot to unpack in this song. The album ends with the painfully acoustic ballad "The Last Song of Your Life", meh.

"Hurts 2B Human" is not a bad album but it’s just there. Parts of the album are either generic or playing it very safe. I feel like it was rushed and P!nk probably had no real vision for this project. She actually said that this was supposed to be just an EP and it shows. Overall it’s a very quiet album, mostly ballads and midtempo tracks. It does showcase a more vulnerable side of P!nk though (lyrically) I'll give it that.

As a whole Hurts 2B Human is not perfect. It is full of emotion and passion in certain parts, and yet devoid of it in others.

There are flourishes that hint the singer is still capable of reaching those heights in pop that few ever reach, moments when she still sounds like she’s actually having a good time recording the songs. Unfortunately, these moments are all too fleeting. When Hurts 2B Human works, its great. It reminds you why Pink is such a big star. When it doesn’t, it hurts.

Pink’s eighth album, Hurts 2B Human, finds the singer peddling the same boilerplate pop-rock songs about self-empowerment and existential angst that have defined her career for almost 20 years.
