Allowing themselves the creative freedom to explore a wider variety of sonic textures and moods will give AlunaGeorge the outlet that their ambition deserves, but such self-actualization cannot be found here.

The uncluttered production always feels reasonably on-trend, but too often these songs just aren’t catchy or inventive enough to be truly memorable. The result is another pretty decent album that doesn’t quite ignite.

The presence of four hired songwriters dilutes the duo's offbeat DNA. [Oct 2016, p.96]

While the individual elements all sparkle, at times there are so many stylistic tics that the songs can get lost in the mix. [Oct 2016, p.106]

As flawed as this album is, pop will be a finer place with AlunaGeorge’s presence.

AlunaGeorge have always been smooth, but here they sound soft, the glitches debugged, their quirks edited out.

I really like Body Music, and while I Remember is a bit more poppy, it's still got all the elements that made their first album so enjoyable. There are not as many standout tracks on I Remember, but there are also no bad songs either. Everything is either good or great, so this is a very enjoyable album from start to finish. Full Review »
