Bolder and with increased confidence, I Remember sounds more succinct and complete than 2013 debut ‘Body Music’.

Overall, it's the record you wanted--and expected--AlunaGeorge to make three years ago. It'd be good to see them kick on, though; you still get the feeling they've an even better record in them.

It occasionally loses focus, but overall the decision to open up has worked wonders.

It’s a sleek collection of pop gems that will live long in the memory.

In lesser hands, the sheer number of collaborations on I Remember could have spelled trouble, but AlunaGeorge are no ordinary band. They are so much better than that.

It’s well-executed mainstream pop with enough variety to prick the ears.

A widely varied and ultimately satisfying record.

I Remember isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s an all round strong record where both Reid and Francis solidify their complimentary strengths.

The most effective songs--the dragging slow jam "My Blood," the sweetly chiming ballad "Mediator," and the woozy and bittersweet title track--are the least cluttered, from the comparatively sparse production to the judicious lack of guest vocalists.

It’s all a learning curve, which is never a bad thing for a sophomore album. Thankfully, AlunaGeorge have offered us plenty of examples of what they do best in I Remember and, perhaps most importantly, left us wanting even more.

It cribs largely from dancehall, but stops short of adopting any of that form’s humidity; these diaphanous tracks are a long stream of cool appraisal.

I really like Body Music, and while I Remember is a bit more poppy, it's still got all the elements that made their first album so enjoyable. There are not as many standout tracks on I Remember, but there are also no bad songs either. Everything is either good or great, so this is a very enjoyable album from start to finish. Full Review »
