Dark, weird and avant garde to a tee, blended with sludge, doom and noise. Strange, eerie and ambient sounds effects fill this record to create a rather frightening record at times. They’ve created one of the most haunting and terrifying metal albums since the legendary Khanate broke up.

Metal, techno and noise fans will all find solace here, as the band juggle sounds from all three to make something that sounds new, and almost natural.

I Shall Die Here is a bracing listen, certainly no easier than The Body’s conventional albums, and in its application of intense studio treatment, at times perhaps even more intense. But it is also a whole lot better than The Body’s 2013 album for Thrill Jockey, Christ, Redeemers.
