These masterfully cherry-picked tunes help explain why it's not always clear whether Ghost B.C. are a metal act with pop leanings or vice versa. [9 Nov 2013, p.52]

It's a serviceable bit of self-generated fan fiction that's as slight as it is artistically obstinate.

This EP by the costumed doom-metal Swedes (they are Ghost B.C. here for legal reasons) is a weird, appealing detour from their regular godless crunch.

The Ghouls of Ghost B.C. are, first and foremost, putting on a show (as evidenced by the bombastic live show recorded here), and the winking song selections and dramatic musical choices of If You Have Ghost continue that grand stage performance.

Their five-song EP produced by Dave Grohl and featuring covers of songs by ABBA, Depeche Mode, Roky Erickson and Army of Lovers is ridiculously lightweight.

Ghost B.C.’s first effort at a covers EP is another difficult, tedious listen.

This set amounts to nothing more than an unnecessary, embarrassing, pointless five-track.

Beautiful covers that showed Ghost has many ways of making their own sound feel fresh and new.

This recording also seems to have ushered in a tradition that has been followed by the band, which consists of releasing EPs after album releases, containing covers of bands they enjoy. Anyway, the work contains a very clean sound, and the themes are also close, making it work almost like an album. After all, the band's latest track and single, Secular Haze, shows once again that they are excellent performers. Expand

They are my type of band for their horror theatrics, early rock influence, and overall an fresh style that sets them apart from most bands. With that being said, this album is a huge step back for Ghost. A perfect definition for disappointment. Everything that you can love about the first album is watered down to a very safe an uninteresting sound. To me the tracks almost come across as insultingly lazy. I rather be Crucified than have to listen to this again. If You Have Ghosts work in high regard this album should not phase your love for this very experimental and campy ban; However, I have to be honest and so do you! This is absolutely terrible and it belongs to the pits of hell often described in their lyrics. It's Monster Mash campy and soft enough to make them the opening act for the Hex Girls in Scooby Doo. The Hex Girls work is awesome and catchy, while Ghost in this album is just boring. Ghost is incredible and they should continue to make music unless it is like the music in this album. In that case they should just open a haunted exhibit for Halloween or something like that. Expand
