    Instrumentally, Ignorance transcends the traditional folk that The Weather Station tirelessly perfected over the previous four albums. With an ever-expanding palette of sonics at her disposal, Lindeman weaves these tales of turmoil and regret through the usage of everything possible – horns, strings, several subtle non-acoustic guitars, and most prominently the piano. To reach the levels of awareness she sought required another level of sound, and it crackles throughout Ignorance.

    As a whole, Ignorance can carry an audience through beautiful arrangements and atmosphere. However, and perhaps as a result of the beauty of the music and her delivery, Lindeman’s goal of delivering emotional lyrics hits shy of the mark. Instead, we’re left hanging on to every note.

The first seven songs are very coherent, the first five songs are one, It's a little soft at the end, but it's still great. A lot of people who don't like this album are obsessed with the repetitive drumming and find it boring, but maybe you could focus on the lyrics, and the little, subtle details. ＂robber＂–The jazz element at the end of the song, In ＂Atlantic＂, the synthesizer imitates the sound of the shearwaters, and the magnificent atmosphere of the sunset dyed the water red. about parking lot（one of my favorite songs ）Help! The lyrics are so good, I get goose bumps every time I hear a piece of sky hanging from the ceiling and a few words describe a heavy sense of helplessness. The finale is just like the scene mentioned at the beginning of the song, and the strings are like birds singing through the traffic, through the noise, until the climax, and the curtain call. The total feeling is not only a musical point, but also a kind of aesthetics.… Expand

    Tamara Lindeman's voice is so soft it is a blessing that it accompanies us for this marvelous journey, the time of an album. Despite the tone and the melody evoked by this heavenly voice, the themes addressed are often questioning, making us wander, think and explore in peace and tenderness.
    The mixing and arrangements are as gorgeous as the instrumentation. All instruments sound pure, clear and in an ethereal beautiful way as they compliment that shivering voice. Subtly varied enough to make us envy the next song.
    Each track is an invitation to chill, feel a whole palette of emotions and dream.    … Expand
