In this project, we realize the potential of the man himself, Young thug (Jeffery), his potential under wheezy and TM88's production. Jeffery delivers the most marvelous flow to this date, but this won't beat Barter 6 nor Slime Season 2. Although, this is an inspirational project for Thug to drop, it did not sound like any ordinary or typical Thug mixtape you would expect.

    76/100.

Decent, but some of the songs don't have much of an appeal. The best tracks are "RiRi" and "Webbie". "Wyclef Jean", "Pop Man" and "Pick Up the Phone" are also pretty dope.

Young Thug releases yet another spectacular project, continuing his streak of quality music. It looks like the Young Thug thread on KTT was correct in his potential, except for Barrk0 the woat ktt user. Anyways back on topic Young Thug haters lost, Rap Genius lost, Barrk0 lost.

The only real low points on this tape are the bridge to "Kanye West" which was a bit out of place and make the song longer than it had to be (I really do believe that is a hit without the hook). The meme title for Harambe, and the Travis Scott version of Floyd, which really does drag on, but I still have the original version without Travis (no hate he just didn't fit) so I don't discount points for that. Otherwise the entire tape is a great and movement in the right direction for Thug musically/sonically and creatively.

Another great album by young thug the rapper. This time he brings a more commercial and mainstream vibe to his tabs that separates itself from thug's birdman days, and it seems to be working.

Young Thug's tendency to release a barrage of projects each year often limits the quality of his individual albums/mixtapes. However Jeffery shines as his best work yet as he experiments much more with his vocals and beats across the album than previous projects. Highlights include Riri and Webbie.

This album wasn't a favorite of mine at first, but the innovative and eclectic instrumentations and vocal runs grew on me substantially. This is some of Young Thug's best work and a very good mixtape.

This is pop rap done right. The space of a mixtape gives him space to express himself more than the requirements of an album rollout would allow. Jeffrey is a pretty strong trap album, with tracks that manage to positively surprise the listener with their uncommon beats and moods. It provides strong bangers like Future Swag, which successfully reinvent the traditional characteristics of trap music, but also chill songs like Guwop, or dancehall-ish tracks like Wyclef Jean. The length of some songs like Kanye West or Floyd Mayweather may result excessive, even though the quality remains high. Imho, tracks like Harambe and Webbie are not significantly good if compared to the rest of the record, which is still a mus for those who want to enter the world of modern trap music Expand

Young Thug has made a record about the agency public figures have over their own identities. In another, he’s made the year’s most bizarre, brilliant genre exercise. [Oct 016, p.65]

Whatever he calls himself, Young Thug is still one of the most distinctive voices in hip-hop, and Jeffery lives up to the best moments from his Barter 6 and Slime Season mixtapes.
